Top 20 DVD Sales For The Week Ending March 25, 2007 March 31, 2007 1:05 am

There were seven new releases in the top 20 DVD charts last week with six in the top 10. New releases occupied the first three spots, with Eragon holding off Rocky Balboa in second and Blood Diamond in third.

All three networks were down week-to-week. ABC pulled back ahead of NBC among households and viewers, but NBC stayed in first among adults 18-49.

All networks were down year-to-year (save The CW, but thats based on the average of two networks). CBS managed to overcome ‘Idol’ to take first place across the board for last week.

The day after NBC extended its agreement for more years of Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants, CMT decided against doing the same for its Miss America pageant.

The CMT network told the Associated Press that it will not be picking up their option on “Miss America”.

NBC Commits to Three More Years of Pageants March 29, 2007 2:57 pm

NBC has extended its agreement with Donald Trump and the Miss Universe Organization to broadcast Miss Universe and Miss USA Pageants for three more years.

The agreement becomes effective in 2008 and runs through 2010.

Fox confirmed today via press release that next week’s guest star will be Tony Bennett.

Bennett will help the nine remaining finalists (Chris Sligh was eliminated on Wednesday) on Tuesday’s show (April 3) and he will perform live the following evening during the results show.

The U.S. Postal Service unveiled on Wednesday 15 new first-class stamps featuring characters from the Star Wars universe.  The stamps will go on sale May 25th.

It’s been rumored for quite some time that when Lost returns for its fourth season, it’ll do it in a style like 24: a straight shot beginning in January.

Well, in an interview with Sci Fi Wire, Naveen Andrews who plays Sayid on the hit ABC drama hinted at the late start.

Fox has announced that they are holding off the return of Standoff until the June.   The series was originally scheduled to finish its run of 18 episodes (11 have aired) on Friday, April 6.

Codenamed Zephyr and revealed back in January of this year, Microsoft has unveiled the Xbox 360 Elite.

The Elite version will sport a new black finish, and come equipped with a 120GB hard drive, HDMI a/v port, HDMI cable, black wireless controller and black headset. The new unit will go on sale beginning April 29 with a retail price of $479.99.

The NFL have announced the slate of games for the opening week of football, with the regular season officially kicking off Thursday, September 6.

That game will have the defending Super Bowl champion Indianapolis Colts hosting the New Orleans Saints on NBC. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET.
