“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows” Cover Revealed March 29, 2007 12:12 am

Scholastic on Wednesday released both the front and back covers of the last Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
“The front cover of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ features a dramatic sky of oranges and golds. It depicts 17-year-old Harry with arm outstretched, reaching upward. The structures around Harry show evident destruction and in the shadows behind him, we see outlines of other people,” said David Saylor, Scholastic’s Vice President and Creative Director who has designed all seven Harry Potter covers.
“For the first time the cover is a wrap-around. On the back cover spidery hands are outstretched towards Harry. Only when the book is opened does one see a powerful image of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, his glowing red eyes peering out from his hood.”

I have two predictions. First, Harry Potter is one of the crucruxes so he has to kill himself for Voldemort to be killed. Second, Dumbledore is not dead. At the beginning of every class Snape says that he can mimmick death. So he supposedly killed Dumbledore but maybe he just mimmicked death. These are just my predictions. More may come later!
By the way, this was my mom’s and one of my brothers friends predictions. It would be mean of me to take credit for these awesome prediction! Right back if you have something to say or any questions.

My predication is tagged with the prophecy. It states that a child born to parents who twice crossed Voldermort will be his downfall. Despite his bungling attempts I think that Neville has what it takes and he fits the prophecy also.
I think the idea about Snape and Dumbledore being in cohoots in faking his death is pretty damn good also. Snape being his uncle however isa little far fetched.

first of all, harry’s scar will be one of voldomorts horcruxes, and after he destroys the rest of them (goblet, locket, snake, ring…etc) he’ll have to kill himself and so neither of them will be abled to live…aka, remember the prophecy??that’s probably what it meant when it said “both cannot live” by killing harry voldomort will kill a horcrux, and by killing himself, harry will kill voldomort!
Snape could not be a relative as near as an uncle. His surname is Snape and his mother’s maiden name is Prince(the half blood Prince). The prophecy says, “neither can live while the other survives.” which means Harry could very well live if Voldemort were to die. And I don’t think Voldemort would make the one person he want’s to kill more than any a horcrux. Why would he put his soul in Harry just to destroy a bit of himself. Plus as Dumbledore said making a living thing a horcrux is foolhearty
plus the last bit of Voldemort’s soul to kill is the one residing withing his body.
Snape did a nvbl expelliarmus but said avada kedavra. “By the odd angle his [dumbledore] leg were, he’d probably be sleeping”. Dumbledore took The druaght of living death.

I cant wait ither harry potter rocks I do unfortunately think that harry is going to die because when u think about it everyone that he really loves has died his mom his dad and now his uncle so maybe J.K Rowling feels that its time for him to be reunited.

Dumbeldor was killed by Snape however he remains “alive” in the framed pictures of previous headmasters of Hogwarts in the Headmasters office (6th Book) and where ever else they happen to put his picture I beleive Harry is going to find the curses he is ment to find then he will return to Hogwarts to be taught how to over come Voldemort He also gets help from Dumbeldor through the picture He needs to learn how to do magic without his wand before he can take on Voldemort Dumbeldor told him he cannot use his wand to kill him (4th Book) J K Rowlings is awesome her imagination is addictive I cannot wait to read the 7th book

hey who dies does any body know in the seventh book
well well just like all of you people, i cannot wait for the last and 7th book. Assuming this will be the best-written of them all since it is the last, I truly hope that Harry won’t be killed since I grew up along reading his story. I do hope that Harry would be able to get all his mission and saving-the-world thing done in time. The 6th book left me hanging and made me cry! Dumbledore dying in that book left me hopeless so I do wish that the 7th book would make up for it.

I have decided to tell you wonderful people ONE of the people that die in the book.
His name is Ron Weasly. Ron dies while protecting Hermione from Voldemort and he jumps in front of the avada kedavra and then Hermione begins to cry but manages to apparate to the Burrow and tell Mrs Weasly while crying who begins to sob and blames it all on herself.

ok i just read what “coolkat” said and i completely agree with them. i really think that harry’s scar is IN FACT a horcrux and that in order for voldermort to die, harry has to die also, as told in the prophecy. im so excited for this book and i really want to find out who dies, etc. i truly think that Voldermort will be killed by Harry, because I think that Harry is the only person who is able to kill Voldermort. of course, Neville might be the one to kill Voldermort also, because it always seems as though he has a little bit of something that no one really notices.
Note, that in the fourth book, the narrator says that Harry sees a gleam of triumph in dumbledore’s eyes when he hears that Voldermort is recovered using Harry’s blood. I think this is majorly significant. maybe Voldermort is Dumbledore’s brother? or somehow related? maybe that’s why he’s so afraid of him. that seems a bit far fetched, but you never know. I truly think that that part in book four is a small hint in whats coming in the book 7.
and about snape being Harry’s uncle? well, although not very probable, it might be true.
I cannot wait until this book comes out, and July 21 is too far away for me right now. but, after a year of waiting, it’s FINALLY here! one month and 10 days! hold on to your horses, people. this is going to be the best yet!

I believe that the prophecy said “neither can live while the other survives” and I was thinking that mabye it wasn’t talking about Harry and Voldemort in that part. I think it might be talking about Harry and Neville. What if one of them has to die and then the survivor will be the one to challenge Voldemort in the end, which we already know is Harry so Neville will die. Remember Rowling said 2 more major characters will die.

i really and truly think that harry is a horcrux. but i donnt think that neville and harry have to kill eachother cause everyone, even dumbledore, KNOWS that the prophecy is about harry and voldermort. so yeah. i think that harry is a horcrux because he couldn’t die, but since voldy killed mr and mrs potter he could use those deaths to make another horcrux therefore making harry one. and in the first few books, he didnt want harry to die, but he wanted to make him part of his side; a death eater. so now, he realizes the prophecy and wants harry to die because i think that only harry is able to kill voldermort since the prophecy said “neither can live while the other survives” and since the prophecy was about harry and voldermort, only ONE can kill the OTHER and no one else can kill either of them. THEREFORE, if harry is in fact a horcrux, then if voldermort kills harry, yes, he’d be killing one of his souls, but then he’d have harry out of the way and wouldn’t die. ha.

Harry is definitely NOT a Horcux that would be the dumbest thing for Voldemort to do. Why would he make Harry, a living thing, into something so important.
Also Dumbledore is dead, for sure, she has already said it. Sirius on the other hand may not be. Remember the 2 way mirror that he gave to Harry in the 6th book, JK said that the mirror will make an appereance.
She also said that it is very significant in the 7th book that Harry HAS HIS MOTHER’S EYES. I don’t know whats goin on there, but i’m damn excited.
maybe he can see things that no one else can(like being a parselmouth) and could find voldemorts weakness and kablooie…..maybe harry should make an expansion spell and do the killing curse and killeveryone and himself???????????

if voldemort intended to create his last horcrux with harrys death would it be possible that because his own avada kedavra was reflected upon himself that the horcrux was created with harrys soul instead because he actually killed voldemort by reflecting his own spell?…..yea i know its far fetched but im expecting anything in this book and ive been thinking about it WWWWAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much
The Harry Potter series are absolutely..beyond words. It’s a wonder how J.K. Rowling was able to capture the imagery in her words and portray it to her readers. I have read the books countless times, and each time I feel as if I am introduced to something new. Before each book comes out I go through the traditional ritual in which I re-read the books again and analyze everything.
Though I know that there is something more to Dumbledore’s death I still can’t seem to forgive Snape and I don’t think I ever will. The death may have been staged knowing J.K. Rowling there is probably some crazy twist to it all, but Snape will never be my friend, he is forever a foe!
I admire each and every Harry Potter fan out there, like myself, for appreciating good literature! It’s a shame to think that there are people out there that don’t even give Harry Potter chance thinking, “its lame” or “who wants to read about a boy with a scar?” This kind of mentality is narrow minded and should be frowned upon.

i am with everyone on this! I cannot wait for the book to come out!! But while i was reading everyone’s comments, I had a thought. Do you find it wierd that the book comes out towards the end of July? Think about it, Harry was born at the end of July, and that is when we get the book. It is not exaclty on his birthday, but it isnt far away either.

About snape being harrys uncle it is highly unlikely. Lily, his mom had muggle parents, and snape had a witch for a mother and a muggle for a father. His fathers last name was snape. Lily’s was evan’s. Next, why would Jk Rowling tell us all Dumbledore was dead if he wasn’t? Next Hogwarts will reopen eventually because she said someone who we least expect will become a teacher there. I think this will be Neville teaching herbology, which means he will not die. Next, Voldemort went to harrys parents house to kill harry because he heard the first part of the prophecy and wanted to put a stop to it before he got to powerful. Doing this he continued out the prophecy marking harry as his equal and making sure it was only harry it applied to and NOT neville. Next, since the book is called “the deathly hollows”, one would assume this refers to godric’s hollow (i think thats what its called) where harrys parents were hiding the night voldemort came after them. The battle may even take place in or around there old house. Well thats all for now. I absolutly love harry potter and have spent the last 2 weeks re-reading all the books! I’m on the 6th! I absolutly can’t wait for the next book! I love Ron Weasley, along with everyine else!

everybody who thinks that dumbledore took the draught of living death has not read the books very carefully. you cannot be conscious ever after taking that potion. besides jk rowling already stated that everytime she says a character is dead its because they really are. sirius won’t come back either. thats why harry has control of kreacher. and snape and harry aren’t related. though i am willing to except the fact that snape and dumbledore might have agreed on his death. but we will have to see about that one. i sort of believe this because of the things snape said to harry in the sixth book. when he was fleeing with draco and battling with harry it was like he was encouraging harry to close his mind. letting him know that he couldn’t do it without occlumency. so hopefully he will find a better teacher. also neville does not have the power to defeat voldemort. because although the prophecy states that the one will be born at the end of july to the parents who thrice (three times if you didn’t know) defeated the dark lord, it also states that voldemort will mark him as his equal. the marked boy will be the one with the power…now, who has the scar? that would be harry. and it is very possible that harry could be a horcrux because of the fact that jk rowling mentioned in the book that to make a horcrux you had to comit an act of murder…which is what he did before harry survived the killing curse.
if you want a better prediction of whats going to happen or what really could be…then read your books again and put together the puzzle peices because there are some pretty obvious things.
and for john m…let me tell you why your observations of dumbledore are completely wrong.
somebody closed dumbledores eyes.
he was thrown off the tower. you aren’t going to land spread eagle.
not everybody lands spread eagle after being killed by the curse either.
and the most important.
when harry was in dumbledores office later. dumbledore was snoozing in his portrait.
no headmaster or headmistress can have a portrait on that wall without being deceased. as the tradition goes.

the excitment that I am feeling about the 7th Harry Potter book coming out is undescribable but I still feel that Daniel Radcliff is the best person to play the character of Harry Potter the way that he fits into the characters life is just amazing he makes me want to watch the movies over and over again and no it’s not just his looks

Мені подобається серія книг “Гаррі Поттер”, однак фільми, м’яко кажучи, паршиві, особливо 4. Актори – просто жах.В перших фільмах хоч молоді чарівники прекрасно грали свої ролі. А що це за Дамблдор у 3 і 4 фільмах? Хіба таким розтяпою він має бути? Дамблдор – це поважний, мудрий, досвідчений, спокійний чарівник, упевнений в собі і який любить оточуючий світ. А професорка МакГонагел? Та ж це сувора і справедлива вихователька Грифіндору, а не добродушка бабуся! А про Снейпа вже взагалі краще помовчати. Та Дж. Роулінг молодець: герої у її світі не втрачають своєї своєрідності. Цікаво, як розвинуться події у 7 частині Поттеріадни? Мені чомусь здається, що помре ще хтось із близьких друзів молодого чарівника, можливо Герміона або Гегрід, Гаррі знайде і знищить всі горокракси та покінчить з Волдемортом, от тільки не знаю, чи сам він залишиться живим, Джоан він таки добряче попсував нерви, хоч і приніс їй міліонні сатки

oh, and sorry to shoot down a couple of theories, but here we go:
voldemort cannot have made harry into a horcrux, becuz voldemort would have wanted to use HARRY’S death as the soul-splitting part, because his death was the most important, not his parents. Even if he did use a horcrux for the deaths of harry’s parents, why would he put the horcrux into something that he was about to kill?
also, i find it highly unlikely that harry will create a horcrux in order to keep himself from dying. first of all, harry does not fear death, as voldemort does. second, harry hates dark magic. and second of all, i dont believe that harry would commit murder (excepting, of course, voldemort) in order to make a horcrux. third, where would he learn it from? anyone knowledgable enough in the dark arts would be on voldemorts side.
maybe godric’s hollow has something to do with Godric Gryffindor. that’s why voldermort thought it was so important to go there and kill James and Lilly. just a thought.
in the fifth movie, at the end when harry is talking to luna lovegood, luna say “as my mother always said, things you lose have a way of coming back to you. even in the most unexpected of ways.” ok well in an interview, JK Rowling said she was surprised how much the movies gave away without meaning to. OBVIOUSLY this means something….or SOMEONE will come back to harry. maybe farfetched but hey, it could happen.

Ok all good theorys, i hope Dumbledor and Snape are in cahoots and the only way for Voldermort to think he has won was to kill Dumbledor, this way Dumbledor has an open opportunity to move around without being noticed as much, she says that two of the main characters die, i recon Luna and Ron die, Luna is reunited with her mother and Ron just dies saving Either Ginney, Harry or Hermione. Harry and Dumbledor destroy all the Horcrux and Harry blasts Voldermort with the Adava Kadaver and blows Voldermort out of existance, but manages to destroy half of Hogwarts in the progress, Dumbledor is reinstated as Headmaster and hogwarts welcomes its first Year One students and everyone lives Happily Ever After . Fini

I read the book!HARRY SURVIVES! it was very good! it was obvious that ron and hermonie would get toether…and they did! i knew that dumbledore would be in a portrait at hogwarts as J.K Rowling has all the previous head masters in portaraits in his office! i was surprised that Sirus was good all along and felt very sorry for him…and the fact he wanted to protect harry because he loved his father! it was an amazing book!Sirus,Lupin,Tonk.Mad eye moody,Crabbe,voldemort and some more die aswell! and one of the twins and the other looses an ear! the ending was very cheesy Ron and Hermione have two children and Harry and Ginny have some aswell! loadz more happens aswell!

OMG! the whole firht with voldamort and Harry was like OMG! it was like so exciting and i couldn’t believe that there weren’t going to be any more of the Harry Potter books. It made me want to cry. well anyways my favorite part was when the Prince (Snape) was telliing about his story that really wanted to make me cry. I mean just think if Lily really married Snape and they had Harry how werid the story would really be, and yet I think having Snape as a sercret good character was really cool to read about. My second favorite part of the book was the epoligue I mean reading about Harry having kids with Ginny and well Ron and Hermione being together really made the book complete. But I must say I was really mad that J.K. Rowling didn’t put in who Draco married or what became of Luna Lovegood, or what happened to Dean, Cho, George, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, or if the Malfoys became good or not. I am mad but hey maybe I could write to J.K. Rowling and see what really happened to some of the characters. That’s all I have to say and this also it was the best book I have read in a long time and i’ll treasure it always. Happy Reading!
