Lost Season 4 to Start In January? [Update] March 29, 2007 12:41 am

It’s been rumored for quite some time that when Lost returns for its fourth season, it’ll do it in a style like 24: a straight shot beginning in January.
Well, in an interview with Sci Fi Wire, Naveen Andrews who plays Sayid on the hit ABC drama hinted at the late start.
Update 2: ABC has announced their midseason schedule, and Lost will now premiere on Thursday, January 31. It’ll continue to air every Thursday at 9:00 p.m.
Update: Lost will return, and premiere its fourth season, on February 6, 2008.

According to the actor, ABC is indeed thinking about premiering the show in January to allow the network to run the series straight through with no breaks.
Naveen expressed interest in the series moving out of its current 10:00 p.m. time slot saying: “I think they should make it sort of like what it was before,” Andrews opined. “I liked it when it started a little bit earlier, because a lot of the audience are kids, aren’t they? I thought, hmm.”

LOST will continue to be the 2nd best show on TV…I dare it to go up against 24 at 9pm on Mondays! It will get blown away just like everything else in Jack Bauer’s wake!

It might start in January?! Well, that kinda makes sense, sine season 3 comes out on DVD in early December. I LOVE LOST! Can’t wait for it!

yeah um Vince jesus dude, 24 is one of the worst series on tv. As Losto stated it hasn’t even been nominated for an emmy this year, and I don’t think it will ever win another one again…..but as for the january start I’m kinda against it, I’d rather it start early and then have a break like they did last year, it builds suspense and makes me want watch the show even more….but yeah this show is the best show on tv right now, 2nd best is House, last place is 24

24 was a great show… until last season. Definitely spiraled out of control. They need to get out of the terrorist with x weapon->targets LA->presidential conspiracy circle they’re in. I thought they missed a golden opportunity last season to have Jack escape from a Chinese prison in 24 hours.
As for Lost, great show, but it’s getting aggravating with all the red herrings and strange story lines. I suppose it keeps us interested. After all, it’s just a big strange Hurley dream, isn’t it? :-)
Best show on TV is Battlestar Galactica.
ok witchking, Battlestar SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lost is much more interesting and less corny. I have watched lost religiously from season 1 and the reason people are confused is because they havn’t watched every episode. i don’t pretend to get everything, but the stuff they HAVE told us makes sense.
I <3 LOST! My husband and I are totally addicted! We started renting the seasons and would stay up all night and watch the whole season cause we were so into it! We can not wait for season 4! It has a great plot, storyline, acting. It keeps you guessing all the time! We love LOST!!! By the way, we met and got an autograph from Naveen Andrews at the Gateway mall in SLC!!!!!! It was awsome!

I so don’t want to wait until Jan. 08 to see Lost. I have been looking forward to it all summer! But I don’t like the break in the middle either becuase I forget about what is going on in the show and get distracted by other stuff so by the time the second half comes around I’m not as excited. I just wish they would have a regular season, and an earlier time too. I am excited for it to start up again though. What a great show!!!!!!!! But what is that black dust monster anyway…really?

I can’t wait for Lost to start in January. It’s one of my favorite shows, next to Greys Anatomy, So you think you can dance, Desperate House Wifes, Americal Idol and CSI Miami. Lost producer have a great strategy to bring in their audience. Great.
yea ok Dee, you are a little bit of a freak. we all love lost, yeay for LOST but you are like over obsessing about it, ok? chill out! it is amazing and i love watching it but lets just keep in mind people that it is just a TV show and that the world outisde of Wednesdays at 9 or 10 DOES EXIST!!!!!! Oh and MIA, there should not be 6 favorite shows. 2 or 3 but not 6. that is just dumb. My 2 are Lost and Heroes. But when you take up half of your comment listing other of your favorite shows, it sort of looses its purpose.
Oh no I just found out that the season may not start until January!! That’s just too long to wait. I was all ready for it to start this fall! I feel like I am not going to remember everything that happened last season,so hopefully they’ll tell us soon so we can prepare and refresh our memories on what happened! I also hope it’ll be on the Wednesday eve slot again. Argh…I love that show!

Well now. If it starts in January in the US. We’re only getting it around April here in South Africa. That really sucks. And by the way, South Africa’s going to win the Rugby World Cup. New Zealand is going down. Favorite show: Lost Favorite character: Hiro Nakamura(Heroes)

Mary- about the dust monster. The black smoke thing apparently is some sort of security system on the island. We know that the others don’t like it because they built their sonic fence, we know that it can rip trees out of the ground, we also know that it doesn’t kill you if you aren’t afraid of it (like Eko). But what I think but don’t know is that it takes the form of people which is how Jack saw his dad, Eko saw his dead brother, and so on.
I am so excited to see the next season because of the way they left us on the last season finally. My husband and I watch all the old seasons to get us even more excited for the upcoming season!

I would have to say that LOST is by far the greatest tv show playing these days, in fact i think its the greatest show that has ever aired. Its such a awesome show because of the crazy combination of action and mystery… i just wish it was coming on sooner

As noted in the update, Lost will return with its fourth season on Wednesday, February 8, 2008.
I had heard somewhere it would be moved to Monday nights when it returns. Has that changed?
As far as I’m aware, the current plan is to return the show on February 6, which is a Wednesday.
But there is still plenty of time for things to change. We’ll know for certain as the date nears.
Are you serious???????????????? Lost is not starting until next year???? Please somebody tell me that is not true. Why do we have to wait? Did it not start every year in the fall or am I dreaming? I love Lost!!! It’s such a great show. I cannot wait till the new season comes out. I swear I am literally going to scream when it comes on. I can’t wait!! I hope they get back onto the island (Jack and Kate) and if they don’t, what will happen? The questions bother me and I wonder…. will Kate choose Jack or Sawyer. I personally think that she and Jack are meant for each other. What does everyone else think?
i would like to see kate with jack rather than sawyer. sawyer doesn’t deserve a hottie like her. lol. but you know when jack and kate were off the island that was a flash-forward right? i bet when the new season starts that they will be on the island.
I saw an interview with Matthew Fox on Conan or Jay Leno, one of those…anyway, he said that they are all in contract for 3 more seasons…so, we at least have 3 more seasons to look forward to…and I think 6 seasons is just the perfect length…they have plenty of time for more storyline and flashbacks, and still answer all of our questions by the end. I’m so excited to see how this all ends.

I am stoked about Lost coming back in Jan.! And we get 3 more seasons from them. Like Erin said, 6 seasons is a good length. What I can’t wait for is J.J.’s movie, coming out about the same time. I hope there’s a connection between Lost & the movie.

At the start of season 1 the writers said that they already had 6 seasons worked out for a story line. its gonna be sweet!
i doubt JJ’s movie will tie in. it does look amazing though. i like how its a documentary thing.

I am a huge fan of LOST!!! Our whole family comes over and watches it. It sucks though that at the end of each episode that they leave you hanging and you have to wait a whole week to see what happens. Then they don’t go back to it until another 2 episodes to tell you what happens so more questions need to be answered!
