Synopsis
“The X-Files: I Want to Believe” is a stand-alone story in the tradition of some of the show’s most acclaimed and beloved episodes, and takes the complicated relationship between Fox Mulder (Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Anderson) in unexpected directions. Mulder continues his unshakable quest for the truth, and Scully, the passionate, ferociously intelligent physician, remains inextricably tied to Mulder’s pursuits.

An international trailer for Fox’s X-Files: I Want to Believe has been released. Check it out after the jump. The film, which reunites David Duchovny as Agent Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson as Agent Dana Scully, is directed by series creator Chris Cooper and hits theaters on July 25, 2008.

20th Century Fox today announced that the new film based on the popular and award-winning Fox series The X-Files will be released on July 25, 2008.

During the TCA press tour, David Duchovny spoke about prospects of a second installment of The X-Files movie, indicating that it’s closer to becoming a reality.

In an interview at IESB, David Duchovny said that negotiations are in the final stages (to be finalized later this week) in regards to another X-Files film.
