NBC today announced their Fall 2007 primetime schedule, with most all of their programming returning on the week September 24, and a few shows getting last second switches in the schedule.

While revealing their 2007/2008 original programming slate at the Television Critic’s Association, SCI FI revealed that they will premiere Battlestar Galactica ‘Mini-sodes’, which will air on television and then online.

The Lifetime original series Army Wives has been given an early 18 episode order for season 2. The year’s #1 new cable drama among W18-49 and W25-54 (key groups for Lifetime) is the networks highest-rated series in their 23-year history.

Following up on a prior announcement that the producers of Smallville were searching for an actress to play the role of Supergirl, which will be introduced this coming season, we learn from People magazine that the role has been cast.
Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort will play the role of Supergirl and begins shooting alongside Tom Welling, Michael Rosenbaum and Aaron Ashmore next week in Vancouver, Canada.

RTE is reporting that BBC is interested in the possibility of making a big-screen adaption of the original British version of The Office. Additionally, BBC would be interested in film deals for Little Britain and Ricky Gervais’s (creator/star of The Office) other show, Extras.

ABC has decided to renew its long-running sitcom, giving the series a seventh season in primetime. After leaving it off its 2007/2008 schedule at the upfronts, ABC has ordered 18 episodes of the show, which will now likely be its last.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Cartoon Network and Hasbro Inc. are teaming up to co-produce a new animated Transformers series. The show will premiere in January with the two companies hoping to build on the momentum from the films release this July, and then the expected DVD release this fall.
