Production Begins on Fourth Season of “Grey’s Anatomy” July 12, 2007 8:10 pm

Production began today in Los Angeles on the fourth season of the hit ABC drama Grey’s Anatomy. Cast grows by one, brief summary of the shows plans for year four also released.
With filming underway, actress Chyler Leigh (introduced during last season) has been added to the cast as a regular. Leigh will play Lexie Grey, lead character Meredith Grey’s half-sister.
Entering their first year as residents, Meredith Grey, Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens and Alex Karev now have interns of their own to mentor. Among the new interns are George, forced to repeat his internship after failing his exams, and Lexie Grey, Meredith’s half-sister.
Grey’s Anatomy will continue to air in the 9:00 p.m. time slot on Thursday nights. It was the broadcast year’s highest rated drama (in first run airings) among households, viewers and adults 18-49.
