Aaron Eckhart, who plays Harvey Dent/Two Face in the upcoming Batman Begins followup The Dark Knight, tells the LA Times that director Christopher Nolan “is going way farther than people think” with the character of Two-Face. Hot on the heels of the impressive box office debut of Marvel’s first self-financed film Iron Man, which drew $98.6 million in its first weekend ($102.1 total thus far domestically), the studio has unveiled their feature film release slate: Iron Man 2 and Thor in summer 2010 and Two Avenger-themed movies in summer 2011.

Last summer some noise was made of action movies dropping from an R-rating to PG-13, or in some cases from PG-13 down to PG (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver). The biggest example was Live Free or Die Hard, which 20th Century Fox decided to rate at PG-13 in hopes of attracting a more teenage friendly crowd. The result was a gross of more than $380 million. Though it’s nearly impossible to say the reason for the higher gross resulted from the rating, it was the most in the franchise. Now word comes that Halcyon Company are targeting a PG-13 rating for next summer’s Terminator 4.

The second trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has been released. Paramount sure did make us wait a while to see it, deciding to first release a TV spot, but I think it was well worth the wait. Check it out after the jump. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull hits theaters on May 22, 2008.

The summer movie season is officially off the ground, as Paramount’s Iron Man debuted to a very strong $38 million through its Thursday sneak peaks and Friday Box Office. The breakdown went as follows: $5.2M on Thursday and $32.8M on Friday.

Award-winning writer Alan Burnett, best known for scripting episodes of Batman: The Animated Series, talked to WB about the upcoming straight-to-video release of Batman: Gotham Knight, noting that it’s “the most stylized Batman that’s come out of Warner Bros.”, adding “Gotham City is stunning, and it’s very interesting to see how they’ve envisioned Batman, his environment and his action and movements.” Check out more thoughts from Burnett, plus several new photos, and a trailer from the movie after the jump.

In a joint statement from Smallville Executive Producers Darren Swimmer, Todd Slavkin, Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson; The CW Network; and Warner Bros. Jonah Hill is in early negotiations to costar opposite Shia LaBeouf in Transformers 2, according to EW while the Courier Mail is reporting that Australian actress Teresa Palmer has been cast in the film as well.
Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann are returning to “Witch Mountain”. The original kid stars of the 70’s movies have been cast in Race to Witch Mountain, Disney’s re-imagining of the adventure series. [THR]
Hector Elizondo (Cane) has been tapped by USA to join Monk as Tony Shalhoub’s new shrink, after the unfortunate death of Stakley Kamel, who played Dr. Kroger on the series. Elizondo will show up on the 7th season premiere of the series. [TV Guide]

The May 13th season finale of CW’s reality series Beauty and the Geek will likely be the show’s last episode, at least for some time. According to Variety, CW executives have decided that they’re going to put the series on hold for a few years.

The final season of E.R. is adding a little star power, as film actress Angela Bassett is joining the cast as a regular of the NBC series. [THR]
The CW “90210” spin off has added two actresses: Lori Laughlin has been tapped to play Celia Mills, the show’s mom, while Jessica Walter will play Tabitha Mills, the grandmother. [TV Guide and EW]

Spike TV has ordered six episodes of Factory, a improvised comedy revolving around four small-town factory workers who’d rather do anything than work at their boring jobs, according to THR. It will be the network’s first original comedy series. Factory will premiere on June 29th at 10:00 p.m.
