Bad news for Warner Bros. In a surprise, and early, ruling, Los Angeles court judge Gary A. Feess has ruled that because 20th Century Fox acquired the rights to the graphic novel in the late ’80s before shevling a planned film, they own a copyright interest in the Watchmen film and have the right to distribute the film themselves. Feess suggested that the studios work on a settlement or an appeal rather than going to trial.

Watchmen is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 6, 2009, but this new development could certainly complicate things.

It was hinted at in the past, but now it’s confirmed. Walt Disney and Walden Media have announced that due to budgetary and logistical reasons, Walt Disney will not be exercising its option to co-produce and co-finance the third film in the ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ franchise, ‘The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’.
According to THR, Walden plans to shop the film in hopes of finding a new partner and the trade adds that the most likely candidate at the moment is Fox, who distributes other Walden properties under the Fox Walden banner.

Arnold Schwarzenneggar Responds (Kinda) to Terminator Salvation Cameo Rumors December 26, 2008 2:05 pm

Fan-site The Arnold Fans recently spoke with Governor Arnold Schwarzeneggar about whether he would be appearing in the upcoming McG-directed film. Here’s what the site had to say about the conversation in which he was asked about rumors he’d make a cameo apperance (likely voice with his face digitally placed onto a T800):
Governor Arnold, perhaps under restraints by McG and the film studio, answers only with the body language and a smile of “You never know.” Should we take that as a yes? The tease was promising but it’s too soon to get an official answer.
I don’t know about you, but I’m fairly confident these non-denial answers pretty much mean Arnold will be in the new film. Additionally, DC Direct has unveiled a couple new busts from the film and one of them is classified until May 6, 2009. That final bust–pictured below, click to enlarge and to see four more busts–is code-named T-RIP. I’m pretty sure that’s Arnold.
