NBC takes the night among households and viewers with the nights most-watched program, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, while Fox’s presentation of the theatrical film School of Rock, gives the network a first place finish among adults 18-49.

Variety is reporting that Warner Independent Pictures has set Kurt Sutter (executive producer of the FX show The Shield) to write and direct a remake to the classic Bruce Lee film Enter the Dragon, titled Awaken the Dragon.

CBS wins the night among households and viewers, and ties for first among adults 18-49 thanks to strong increases from all three of its programs, including the nights most watched show, CSI. Fox meanwhile takes a tie for first among adults 18-49 with its NFL Preseason game rating above last years similar matchup.

New Regency is now ready to setup their own movie featuring robots.  The production arm of 20th Century Fox has partnered with the Mark Gordon Co. to adapt Voltron: Defender of the Universe into a possible film franchise.

HBO is getting back together with Alan Ball, creator of the hit Six Feet Under. The network has officially picked up the vampire series True Blood, which Ball will executive produce and act as showrunner for.

The Hallmark Movie Channel is making the move to high-definition.  The network will be offering an HD simulcast, and will have the channel up by the first quarter of next year.

ESPN2’s telecast of the Washington Nationals at the San Francisco Giants in which Barry Bonds hit home run #756 of his career, eclipsing the prior record set by Hank Aaron, drew a dismal 1.1 cable rating, or less than 1 million homes (995,000).

Power of 10 declines in its time slot premiere, but still propels CBS to a win on the night among households and viewers. Fox meanwhile easily takes the A18-49 win with their duo of ‘Dance’ and ‘Lyrics’, despite the former experiencing a weekly decline.

NBC won the night among all three main categories, though CBS got close among adults 18-49 thanks to the consistent Big Brother 8 as well as a solid series premiere for Power of 10.

ESPN today announced that The Contender is returning back to ESPN for another season this coming September 4th (10:00 p.m. ET), ordering up a third season of the Mark Burnett-produced show.

Warner Bros. is interested in bringing Jonny Quest to movie screens, setting Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter as producers for the live-action adaption of the popular 1960s animated TV Series from Hanna-Barbera. Dan Mazeau will be writing the script.
