Last Saturday’s light heavyweight boxing fight between Roy Jones Jr. and Felix Trinidad at Madison Square Garden drew a surprisingly strong 500,000 pay-per-view buys.

ESPN Orders Another Season of “The Contender” August 8, 2007 7:59 pm

ESPN today announced that The Contender is returning back to ESPN for another season this coming September 4th (10:00 p.m. ET), ordering up a third season of the Mark Burnett-produced show.

De La Hoya/Mayweather Fight Breaks Records May 11, 2007 7:10 pm

The De La Hoya/Mayweather boxing match last Saturday registered a record 2.15 million PPV buys. Eclipsing the previous mark set by the 1997 matchup of Tyson/Hollyfield (1.99 million).

HBO is launching a boxing series, which will tie-in with the bout between Oscar De La Hoya and Floyd Mayweather, which takes place May 5.
