CBS holds off ABC’s coverage of the NBA Finals, which fell off considerably from last year’s game 2.  The Tony Awards was also off slightly from last year’s annual event.  Weak return for FOX’s The Loop.

FOX holds off its competition, including a weak game 1 for the NBA Finals.  So You Think You Can Dance? was the #1 program for the evening for the second day in a row.  NBA Finals game 1 was off by double-digits (as high as 31% among A18-49) from last year’s game 1.  In other debut news, Fast Cars and Superstars got off to a slow start.

FOX takes the evening among households, viewers and adults 18-49 thanks to another solid outing for So You Think You Can Dance?, which grew by total audience from last week’s episode. It was the evening’s top draw among households, viewers and adults 18-49. Positive results for second week of ‘Next Best Thing’, but weakened second season premiere for American Inventor.

TBS’s premiere of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne did remarkably well on Wednesday night, becoming the top-rated sitcom of all time among ad-supported cable.

CBS has officially renewed Jericho for a second season, the network announced today. At least seven episodes will air, with a potential for more, all based on how well the show does when it returns.
