CBS today introduced the 40 kids that will participate in the networks new reality series Kid Nation, which is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 19.

There’s been an update to the news story of Stephen Sommers being offered the job to direct GI Joe. Now IESB.net, who originally reported the news, is being told from their source that he was asking for too much so he declined the job.

Casting is now underway for The Scorpion King: Rise of the Akkadian, a sequel (set before) to the Mummy Returns spin-off Scorpion King. The prequel will not be starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

IESB reported a few days ago that New Line Cinema was close to announcing a director for two of their upcoming projects (Gears of War and the Escape from New York remake). Now, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that New Line is indeed in negotiations with Len Wiseman to direct at least one of the projects; the Escape from New York remake.

Well, it turns out that rumors of the show’s cancellation (related story here) were indeed correct. HBO has officially canceled the David Milch series John From Cincinnati.

Nickelodeon today announced that two of their MTVN networks: NOGGIN and The N (which currently share an space on the same station) will split into two separate 24-hour services, effective this coming December 31, 2007.

As reported in this article Kristen Bell was approached to star in the hit ABC drama Lost. However, Michael Ausiello of TV Guide has updated his report to reveal that the actress turned down the role because she didn’t want to relocate to Hawaii, where the series is filmed.

The official Indiana Jones 4 website, yeah that’s right, they’ve yet to officially name this film yet, has updated to include a new video in which several key figures (Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Harrison Ford, Kathleen Kennedy and George Lucas) discuss brining the family back together for this latest in the Indiana Jones series.
