TrekMovie got their hands on four new posters featuring the rest of the cast of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek.  The posters are being given away at Creation’s VegasCon 08 along with the prior four posters that were given away at Comic-Con two weeks ago.  Just like those prior four posters, which featured the principal cast, when combined the cast photos form the classic Star Trek emblem.  Click the image at the right for a closer look at the new posters featuring John Cho (Sulu), Simon Pegg (Scotty), Karl Urban (McCoy) and Anton Yelchin (Chekov).

Synopsis
Mission: Impossible III director and Alias creator J.J. Abrams resurrects the classic science fiction franchise created by Gene Roddenberry with this feature film that embraces the rich history of the influential television and film series while also exploring some uncharted territory. Heroes star Zachary Quinto assumes the role of the Federation Starfleet lieutenant and Vulcan made famous in the original series by Leonard Nimoy (who also appears in an older incarnation of his original role), Spock, with Anton Yelchin stepping into the role of USS Enterprise navigator Pavel Chekov, Zoe Saldana assuming the role of communications officer Uhura, Simon Pegg keeping the ship in top shape as chief engineer Montgomery Scott (aka “Scotty”), and Eric Bana tormenting the benevolent space explorers as the villainous Nero. Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle co-star John Cho also boards the Enterprise as staff psychiatrist Hikaru Sulu, with Chris Pine and Karl Urban assuming the legendary roles of Captain Kirk and Leonard “Bones” McCoy, respectively.

Star Trek hits theaters on December 25, 2008.

UPDATED 7/28/2008 AT 8:10am: /Film has put up their report of the panel.  Read it at this link.

The Friday the 13th panel which included Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Amanda Righetti, Jared Padalecki and Derek Mears. Here are some highlights of the panel courtesy ShockTillYouDrop.

  • The teaser poster was revealed (pictured right–click to enlarge).

Teaser footage was shown.  Here’s the summary:

Features Righetti and boyfriend lurking through a dilapidated cabin where they find a bed. On the bed post reads “Jason” – further along they find a hole. The boyfriend peeks in and a machete suddenly tears through the floorboard beneath his feet!

The boyfriend is jerked down into a hole and Righetti goes nuts, screaming her head off. This scene descends into a hellish montage of violence.

Back to the panel highlights:

  • Someone asked if they’d ever see Freddy get back together with Jason for a sequel to Freddy vs. Jason.  They said they’ve love to do something with Wes Craven.
  • Asked if there are plans to extend the remake into a trilogy, Fuller said that the ending they have seems finite and that the movie will stand on its own.
  • Derek Mears was asked if he’d want to play Jason again after this movie, responding with an obvious “yes”.
  • Gotta love the Bay haters: Will there be explosians because “Michael Bay is directing it?” (jeers from the crowd).
  • Asked about other horror properties, Fuller said he’d like to do another Friday the 13th and he mentioned their upcoming remake of The Birds and said that was “pretty much it” but that they’re always looking for “great horror properties to remake”.
  • Mentioned they’re trying to get a deal to remake Nightmare on Elm Street but “they haven’t made the deal yet.”
  • Fuller confirmed that the movie explores Jason’s childhood.
  • The goal is for the movie to clock in at 90 minutes.
  • No cameos from earlier Friday the 13th movies because, according to Fuller, they didn’t want to take audiences out of the movie.

Comic-Con 2008: “Bitch Slap” Posters July 25, 2008 1:17 pm

Three posters from the 2009 grindhouse movie, Bitch Slap were released at Comic-Con.  Check them out after the jump.

Synopsis
“Bitch Slap” is a post-modern, thinking man’s throwback to the “B” Movie/Exploitation films of the 1950’s – 70’s as well as a loving, sly parody of same. Inspired by the likes of “Dragstrip Girls,” “Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill,” “Kung Fu Nun” and the pantheon of Blacksploitation films, “Bitch Slap” mixes hot girls, fast cars, big guns, nasty tongues, outrageous action and jaw-dropping eye candy with a message… don’t be naughty!

At its core, “Bitch Slap” follows three bad girls (a down-and-out stripper, a drug-running killer and a corporate powerbroker) as they arrive at a remote desert hideaway to extort massive booty from a ruthless underworld kingpin. Things quickly spin out of control as allegiances change, truths are revealed, other criminals arrive for the score, the fate of the world hangs in the balance and they are forced to confront a villain much worse than they ever expected… themselves. It’s the ultimate morality tale as, one by one, they realize the whole “she-bang” was a set-up and one of the film’s characters may not even be human…

What makes “Bitch Slap” different is a “B” Story device that runs throughout the film to illuminate character, backstory and relationship histories not previously revealed. Like the movie “Momento,” these scene flashbacks take place in reverse; so by the end of the film, the audience has a wholly different take on who these women are and why they are behaving so badly. “Bitch Slap” also employs a mysterious Female Narrator who comments periodically on the folly of humanity, the plight of the human condition and the vagaries of life and love through quoting the likes of Dostoevsky, T.S. Eliot, Sun Tzu and even Buddha. Bet you never heard THAT in “Jailbait Babysitter!”

So grab your popcorn and fasten your crotch restraint. With “Cult Classic” written all over it, “Bitch Slap” is the cat-fighting, girl-banging, pile-driving, go-go dancing, bronco-busting, bumping & grinding, philosophy-touting, breast-augmenting, femme-tastic f%@#-fest-fight-fantasy of epic proportions you’ve been waiting for.

Bitch Slap hits theaters in 2009.
