CBS has announced that they are developing a new reality series called Thunder Road, executive produced by McG. According to THR, contestants on the show will “drive cars through a perilous obstacle course”. The pilot presentation had two teams risking demolition while driving a course stocked with challenging obstacles.
Battlestar Galactica Season/Series Finale Will Run Three Hours February 18, 2009 4:29 pm

The upcoming fourth season finale of Battlestar Galactica, the show’s final season, will run three hours. The first episode of the three part episode is titled “Daybreak”, and will air in its normal timeslot on March 13th from 10:00-11:00pm. Then the following week on March 20th, the remaining two episodes (“Daybreak, Part 2” and “Daybreak, Part 3”) will air from 9:00-11:00pm. SCI FI will also air a repeat of the first part at 8:00pm, allowing fans to watch the complete three-hour finale straight through.

The CIAs hunt is on for the mastermind of a wave of terrorist attacks. Roger Ferris is the agencys man on the ground, moving from place to place, scrambling to stay ahead of ever-shifting events. An eye in the sky a satellite link watches Ferris. At the other end of that real-time link is the CIAs Ed Hoffman, strategizing events from thousands of miles away. And as Ferris nears the target, he discovers trust can be just as dangerous as it is necessary for survival. Leonardo DiCaprio (as Ferris) and Russell Crowe (as Hoffman) star in Body of Lies, adapted by William Monahan (The Departed) from the David Ignatius novel. Ridley Scott (American Gangster, Black Hawk Down) directs this impactful tale, orchestrating exciting action sequences and plunging viewers into a bold spy thriller for our time.

Here it is. Before the 30-second Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Super Bowl spot hit, director Michael Bay revealed that the spot would be just a tease of the actual teaser trailer. Sam Donaldson of ABC News has announced that after 41 years at ABC News, he has decided to retire. Donaldson will be returing from full-time work next week:
“Some people leave the business bitter, feeling they’ve been cast out, or they hang on too long,” he says. “And I don’t ever want to get in that position.”

The first of three planned 60-second TV spots for X-Men Origins: Wolverine aired on Fox last night and you can watch the spot embedded below. The second TV spot will air tonight during an episode of House (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT) and the third will air on Tuesday night during an episode of American Idol (8:00-10:00pm ET/PT) on Fox.

A couple weeks back it was revealed that due to a scheduling conflict, Emily Blunt may have to step down from playing the Black Widow in Iron Man 2. Now Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Scarlett Johansson is in talks to replace Blunt as the Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow.
Marvel will not confirm, but sources around Hollywood say Johansson has indeed met with the filmmakers and is interested in taking the role of Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff, who doubles as Black Widow. Blunt’s reps are still trying to make both projects work, but Gulliver’s is further along, with a start date of April 15. Iron Man 2 still doesn’t have a shooting script and a start date has not yet been determined.

FX has announced that the fifth season of the Denis Leary firefighter drama Rescue Me, will kick off on Tuesday, April 7th at 10pm ET. The 22-episode fifth season will air uninterrupted, with the season finale scheduled to air on September 8th.

With Jerry Springer announcing his departure after two seasons on the NBC hit series America’s Got Talent, the network has announced a new host, Actor/Rapper Nick Cannon. Cannon will take over the NBC job for the show’s upcoming fourth season.

Columbia Pictures has tapped Sam Mendes to produce a feature based on the British miniseries Lost in Austen. According to Variety, the film will center on Amanda, an ardent Jane Austen fan, who lives in present day New York with her boyfriend, until she finds she’s swapped places with Austen’s fictional creation Elizabeth Bennett.
The original series aired in four parts on ITV in the U.K. in September.

Columbia Pictures has released the first trailer for The Taking of Pelham 123, which stars Denzel Washington and John Travolta. based on the John Godey novel, which already was the basis for the 1974 film adaptation, the film is directed by Tony Scott. Paramount Pictures has announced that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be released two days earlier than originally slated. The Michael Bay-directed sequel will now hit conventional and IMAX theaters on June 24, 2009.
