Yet another actor has been cast in the upcoming George W. Bush biopic W., this time it’s former press secretary Ari Fleischer. MTV is reporting that comedian Rob Corddry (The Daily Show) has been cast in the role. Given all the attention the film has received over the past few days, it’s no surprise that an early script has been leaked. Dated October 12, 2007 (and referred to as Bush at that point) you can read Slate’s opinion of the script here. W. will hit theaters sometime in 2009.

Only recently were new pictures from the Bryan Singer-directed, Tom Cruise-starring World War II thriller Valkyrie released, but word out of MGM and United Artists this week is that the film is being moved from October 3, 2008 to President’s Day Weekend February 13, 2009. More after the jump.

National CineMedia has put up a brand new in-theater promotional video for this summer’s The Incredible Hulk. The clip is a mixture of clips from a few scenes in the movie and a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration of the film, featuring interviews with producer Kevin Feige and director Louis Leterrier. NBC’s 30 Rock, Showtime’s Dexter and AMC’s Mad Men were among the winners of the 2007 Peabody Awards, which were announced on Wednesday. Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report and Bravo’s Project Runaway were also awarded, marking the first time a reality series has taken home a Peabody. Click here for the full list.

Good news King of the Hill fans. Fox has renewed the veteran comedy for the 2008-09 season, the show’s 13th. The network has picked up 13 episodes of the series, with an option to add more should ratings warrant it. The comedy will begin airing in February-March 2009, with the remaining episodes held over for the 2009-10 season. All of the show’s cast are set to return. [THR]

Filming is about half way done on Quantum of Solace, the latest film in the James Bond franchise. There’s a new report out from the set of filming in Chile, plus several new photos from the film. Dimension Films has acquired the rights to remake the 1986 film Short Circuit. The original film introduced us to Number 5, a robot built by the military to be a highly sophisticated weapon. S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock, who created the characters and wrote both Short Circuit films, have been hired to write the remake.

Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse has landed another castmember. TVGuide is reporting that English actress Olivia Williams has landed the role of Adelle in the Fox drama, the Dollhouse’s cold and sophisticated leader. Williams joins the already announced cast of Eliza Dushku, Tahmoh Penikett, Fran Kranz, Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj.

Smallville co-creators Al Gough and Miles Millar have announced that they are departing the CW show at the end of this season. The duo released an open letter to popular Smallville fansite KryptonSite announcing their plans to depart the series. “After much heartache and debate we have decided it is time for us to move on,” they say in their letter. LatinoReview is reporting that Brendan Fraser has booked the role of Gung Ho in Stephen Sommers’ upcoming big screen live-action adaptation of G.I. Joe. The part is just a one scene cameo. The site is also reporting that an offer has been made to The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) for the role of Hector Delgado, aka Shipwreck. G.I. Joe hits theaters on August 7, 2009.

NBC today revealed their complete 52-week schedule for the 2008/2009 season, an extensive slate of programming that will take advantage of staggered launches in order to present a year-round commitment to original programming. New programming includes The Office Spinoff and Knight Rider and more, while returning shows include ER (its 15th and final season), Friday Night Lights, Lipstick Jungle, Medium, Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU. NBC today announced that the network will use the post Super Bowl slot this season to launch a spinoff series to the the hit comedy The Office. Immediately following NBC Sports’ Super Bowl XLIII coverage, the network will first present an original episode of The Office, followed by the debut of the new spinoff comedy. The basic plot of the new Muppet film, to be co-written by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller (who will direct) has been revealed. In a conversation with CHUD, Segel revealed that the film will be old fashioned, with all the familiar characters showing up to put on a show to save an old theater. The danger will revolve around an evil character who wants to tear the place down to get to the oil underneath. Stoller and Segel haven’t decided on which film is next for them, though it’s possible this Muppet movie could come sooner rather than later.
