American Idol and House combined to give Fox a now common Tuesday night win. The more interesting bit of news though was the post-Super Bowl bump for House. Turns out it had basically no bounce.
House dropped 20% among viewers (5.81 million) and 30% among adults 18-49, and only grew 3% among viewers and adults 18-49 from the episode that aired before that Super Bowl episode.

ABC takes the night among households and viewers thanks to a strong showing from a 90 minute 20/20 special which focused on the Natalee Holloway case.
NBC, however, managed to take first place for the evening among adults 18-49 thanks to strong outings from American Gladiator and the nights most-watched program (among households, viewers and adults 18-49) Deal or No Deal.
Over on Fox, the network failed to boost the performances of Prison Break and Terminator, which both received an advertising boost from the Super Bowl, especially in the case of Terminator. However, the good news was that the program has stabilized and grew in overall audience from its most recent airing.

Lost returned strongly Thursday night, as the season four premiere succeeded in attracting a large audience. Though off from its season three premiere, the show rebounded significantly from last season’s finale, improving by 16% or over 2 million viewers and 14% among adults 18-49.
There’s some cause for concern in the second half drop, but the network had mostly good news in the series premiere of Eli Stone, which won its hour and performed stronger, and held better retention from Lost, than did the networks last show to premiere out of Lost (The Nine).
That concluded ABC’s sweep of the night (the 8:00 pm Lost clip show also won its hour).
Elsewhere on the night, CBS aired repeats, which put it in second in overall audience, but fourth among adults 18-49. Fox got its usually solid performance out of its two game shows ‘5th Grader’ and ‘Lyrics’ (the network was second on the night among adults 18-49) and NBC slid a bit against stiffer competition.
Over on The CW, the network did well last night, as Smallville and Supernatural each returned on par with their last newly aired episodes.

Fox carries the evening thanks to a strong performance from American Idol and week two of The Moment of Truth.
Despite still strong numbers from both shows, there were somewhat significant declines from the week prior, especially with The Moment of Truth, which saw its audience shrink by 22% or more than 5 million viewers.
Elsewhere on the evening, a better than average performance out of a special enhanced edition of the Lost season three finale (season four premieres this evening), gave ABC a rare second place finish on the evening among adults 18-49.

CBS and ABC share leadership on Sunday night, as CBS gets solid results from 60 Minutes (the nights most-watched show), a new Shark and the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie The Russell Girl to give the network a first place finish among households and viewers.
ABC finished in first among adults 18-49 thanks to strong showings from America’s Funniest Home Videos and Extreme Makeover Home Edition (the nights most-watched program in the demo).

With a third of its lineup in repeats, CBS still manages to take the win among households and viewers thanks to a Garth Brooks music special.
NBC settled in for second place, but was the nights most-watched network among adults 18-49, thanks in large part to 1 vs. 100 (#1 for the night among households, viewers and adults 18-49).

CBS and Fox split the evening with CBS taking the win among households and viewers, while Fox won the night among adults 18-49 thanks to a two-hour edition of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?.
Elsewhere on the evening, the first of two episodes of Chuck opened NBC at 8:00 p.m. with weaker ratings than its last newly aired episode (which occurred on a Monday), but the show did manage to show some growth by the second episode at 10:00.
Also on NBC, Celebrity Apprentice was again the nights most-watched program among adults 18-49, helping the network secure second place in the demo for the evening.

NBC’s successful reality duo of American Gladiators and Deal or No Deal, the nights most-watched program among adults 18-49 and total audience, propelled the network to a Monday night victory.
Over on Fox, ‘The Sarah Connor Chronicles’ took another step downward, but still performed well among the key A18-49 demo and grew respectably from its lead-in.

CBS, however, took the night among households and viewers thanks to strong performances from the nights most-watched program CSI (which was a repeat) and Without a Trace.

American Idol remained down from its year-ago numbers, but the show was still far and away the strongest for the evening with over 30 million viewers.
Additionally, the series continues to negatively affect its competition, as all four networks (with the exception of NBC which remained a solid second place) experienced significant loss of audience in the 8:00-10:00 time period.

The return of American Idol was huge as expected, but the show was actually down a bit from last season’s premiere.
None the less, because of the show, Fox outdrew the combined viewer and A18-49 total of the remaining four networks.

NBC and CBS held off episode two of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and the return of Prison Break as both networks were a competitive first and second among households and viewers.
Fox though managed a second place finish among adults 18-49 (NBC was first).
In its time series debut, The Sarah Connor Chronicles declined by 45% among viewers and 44% among adults 18-49 from the night prior. That’s certainly a negative, but its overall performance (over 10 million viewers and 3rd place for the night among adults 18-49) was still solid.
NBC won the night thanks to the continued strong performance of American Gladiators and the nights most-watched program in all three categories (Deal or No Deal).
ABC saw its new series Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann perform well in its second week out, with minimal loss from the week prior, but the network was hurt by poor performances from Notes from the Underbelly and October Road.

ABC and CBS each returned their powerhouse programs (CSI and Grey’s Anatomy) and both shows performed on par with their most recent airings. Grey’s Anatomy took the household and adults 18-49 win, while CSI came away with the win among total viewers.
Helping CBS secure the household and viewer win for the night was Without a Trace, while ABC stayed just strong enough to take the A18-49 win for the night.
Third place for the night went to Fox, which got strong numbers from Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader.
And lastly, NBC saw so-so numbers for its comedy lineup, Celebrity Apprentice and ER. Despite a weekly decline (obviously inflicted because of the addition of CSI and Grey’s Anatomy to the hour), Celebrity Apprentice showed very solid growth from its lead-in.
