appleiphone-013109According to ZDNet, Apple is hard at work on a more powerful iPhone that could hit store shelves later this year.  The new phone, said to be about as powerful as Sony’s PlayStation Portable, will be twice as poweful as the current generation iPhone allowing it to render graphics and games, better than anything before it in the portable gaming world.

The key for the new iPhone will be users ability to download their games via Apple’s App Store, which users can access wirelessly or on their computer.

Apple Premieres iTunes Movie Rentals January 15, 2008 3:02 pm

Apple has announced a new service, iTunes Movie Rentals, which features movies from all the major movie studios.  Users can rent movies for as low as $2.99 (catalog, $3.99 for new releases) and watch them on their Macs, PCs, all current generation iPods, iPhone and Apple TV.

High-Definition versions can be had for just a $1 more ($4.99/$5.99).

Sales of the Apple iPhone have surpassed the 1-million mark.  The company announced the milestone in a just-issued press release.

According to a report in the Financial Times, Apple is looking into launching an online film rental service, and is currently in talks with several major Hollywood studios in hopes to get the service off the ground.
