IMAX Corp. announced on Thursday that it will be converting the last part of the upcoming Warner Bros. film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix from 2-D to 3-D.
The final 20 minutes of the film will be digitally remastered ahead of its release, for a simultaneous day-and-date release with the regular theater version on July 13.
“The last 20 minutes in Imax 3D will add a new element of excitement to the Harry Potter experience, making this a must-see for fans of all ages,” Warner Bros. Pictures International distribution chief Veronika Kwan-Rubinek said in a statement.Last year’s Superman Returns was the most recent film to have a 3-D element to it, but that movie used the 3-D in different areas of the film, requiring audience members to take their glasses on and off. In this instance, members will only have to put their glasses on once.
IMAX Corp. also released an image of the movie poster for the film, you can check it out below (click to enlarge).
