Nintendo’s Wii and DS were the top selling console/portable gaming systems for the month of February.

According to data from the NPD group, the Nintendo Wii console (released in November of last year) sold through all available units, 335,000.

Also among next-gen consoles, Microsoft was able to outsell the Playstation 3 (228,000 to 127,000) to take fourth overall behind the Playstation 2, which continues to sell remarkably well for a last-gen system, pushing through 295,000 units for third overall.

And finally, the Nintendo DS shows no signs of slowing down, as it was number one overall for the month with sales of 485,000. Sony’s PSP was only able to manage sales of 136,000 followed by the Nintendo Game Boy Advance with 136,000.
