Proving that summer doesn’t have to mean the start of rerun season, Hulu today announced a full slate of new original and exclusive TV shows that begin premiering on June 4th on Hulu and the Hulu Plus subscription service. Hulu’s summer lineup offers new TV shows for all kinds of entertainment fans, from comedy, sci-fi, travel, reality and even a little magic. For a preview of the upcoming programming, visit www.hulu.com/hulu-summer-series.
The summer slate announcement kicks off with “Spoilers,” a half-hour movie “revue” for movie lovers hosted by beloved filmmaker and podcasting maven Kevin Smith (“Clerks,” “Red State”). “Spoilers” launches on Hulu and Hulu Plus on June 4th.

The CW Television Network, a joint venture of CBS Corporation and Warner Bros. Entertainment, announced today a five-year licensing agreement with Hulu for the rights to stream in-season episodes of The CW’s programming on the Hulu Plus subscription service and the free, ad-supported Hulu service.

Hulu has announced that they’re calling off the sale of the company. Here’s the statement:
“Since Hulu holds a unique and compelling strategic value to each of its owners, we have terminated the sale process and look forward to working together to continue mapping out its path to even greater success. Our focus now rests solely on ensuring that our efforts as owners contribute in a meaningful way to the exciting future that lies ahead for Hulu.”

Hulu and the Walt Disney Company have announced that Disney has agreed to join NBC Universal, News Corporation and Providence Equity Partners as a joint venture partner and equity owner of the popular online video service Hulu.
According to the press release, which you can read in full after the jump, here is the new content that will be made available on Hulu:
- Full-length episodes of ABC primetime programs like Lost, Grey’s Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Ugly Betty, Samantha Who?, Scrubs, Private Practice and popular late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live
- Full-length episodes of hit ABC Family series like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Greek
- Popular series from ABC Daytime and SOAPnet like General Hospital and The View
- Classic series from ABC’s library like Hope and Faith, Less Than Perfect, Commander in Chief, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and Dancing with the Stars
- Select hit programs from Disney Channel like Wizards of Waverly Place and Phineas and Ferb which can be easily accessed from a new DISNEY location in the Channel section of Hulu.com
- Popular library titles from The Walt Disney Studios
- Short-form content including webisodes, sneak peeks and episode recaps from ABC Entertainment, ABC Family and SOAPnet

ABC’s Lost accounted for 35.8 million video streams of full-length episodes, clips and other content watched by 1.4 million unique viewers during last month, according to NielsenVideoCensus stats.
