Variety has confirmed that Universal Pictures is updating John Carpenter’s 1982 classic horror film, The Thing. Originally reported by Bloody Disgusting earlier in the month, Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. will direct the update from a script written by Battlestar Galactica writer/executive producer Ron Moore.
