Two new photos from The X-Files: I Want to Believe have been released. So, we’re about three months away from the film’s release, and yet we still don’t have a trailer. Photos are great and all, but come on, give us a trailer already! The X-Files: I Want to Believe hits theaters on July 25, 2008. Click through the jump to take a look at the new photos.

Contract negotiations between the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and the studios (who will be represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers/AMPTP) have begun. The solo negotiations, the first time in 27 years that SAG has had solo negotiations with Hollywood studios, began after the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) rejected an offer for combined talks. It took a long time, but we finally have the title for the upcoming X-Files sequel. Series creator and director Chris Carter told the AP that 20th Century Fox has approved the title of the film. The sequel will be titled The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Highlights from the AP article follow after the jump. The X-Files: I Want to Believe hits theaters on July 25, 2008.

As you may have heard, there have been rumors that Marvel Studios and The Incredibile Hulk star Edward Norton were fighting over the final cut of the movie. Entertainment Weekly has published an article about the situation which basically boils down to the studio wanting a shorter, more action packed cut, and Norton and director Louis Leterrier wanting a longer cut (about 2 hours and 15 minutes). Now, Norton has released a statement, approved by Universal and Marvel. Check it out after the jump.

As we near the release date of the Wachowski Bros. Speed Racer adaptation, more and more videos and images are being released. Today comes yet another one. Warner Bros. has released a four-minute plus featurette which you can check out here (via Yahoo!). Speed Racer hits theaters on May 9th.

Yet another actor has been cast in the upcoming George W. Bush biopic W., this time it’s former press secretary Ari Fleischer. MTV is reporting that comedian Rob Corddry (The Daily Show) has been cast in the role. Given all the attention the film has received over the past few days, it’s no surprise that an early script has been leaked. Dated October 12, 2007 (and referred to as Bush at that point) you can read Slate’s opinion of the script here. W. will hit theaters sometime in 2009.

Only recently were new pictures from the Bryan Singer-directed, Tom Cruise-starring World War II thriller Valkyrie released, but word out of MGM and United Artists this week is that the film is being moved from October 3, 2008 to President’s Day Weekend February 13, 2009. More after the jump.

The cast for Oliver Stone’s sure to be controversial biopic W. continues to fill out. According to The Hollywood Reporter, British actress Thandie Newton has signed on to portray Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, while Ion Gruffudd is in final negotiations to star as former British prime minister Tony Blair. I’ve got to hand it to Warner Bros. once again. They’ve done a terrific job with their promotion of the upcoming The Dark Knight and this video is no exception. Gotham City Assistant District Attorney Rachel Dawes (played by Maggie Gyllenhaal) has publicly announced her support of Harvey Dent for Gotham City District Attorney. Warner Bros. has released two new images from their upcoming summer comedy Get Smart. The film stars Steve Carell as Maxwell Smart, a super spy and Anne Hathaway as Agent 99. The film hits theaters on June 20, 2008.

National CineMedia has put up a brand new in-theater promotional video for this summer’s The Incredible Hulk. The clip is a mixture of clips from a few scenes in the movie and a behind-the-scenes look at the inspiration of the film, featuring interviews with producer Kevin Feige and director Louis Leterrier. Dimension Films has acquired the rights to remake the 1986 film Short Circuit. The original film introduced us to Number 5, a robot built by the military to be a highly sophisticated weapon. S.S. Wilson and Brent Maddock, who created the characters and wrote both Short Circuit films, have been hired to write the remake.

LatinoReview is reporting that Brendan Fraser has booked the role of Gung Ho in Stephen Sommers’ upcoming big screen live-action adaptation of G.I. Joe. The part is just a one scene cameo. The site is also reporting that an offer has been made to The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) for the role of Hector Delgado, aka Shipwreck. G.I. Joe hits theaters on August 7, 2009.

The basic plot of the new Muppet film, to be co-written by Jason Segel and Nick Stoller (who will direct) has been revealed. In a conversation with CHUD, Segel revealed that the film will be old fashioned, with all the familiar characters showing up to put on a show to save an old theater. The danger will revolve around an evil character who wants to tear the place down to get to the oil underneath. Stoller and Segel haven’t decided on which film is next for them, though it’s possible this Muppet movie could come sooner rather than later.
