Sony has confirmed that the 25th Anniversary Edition DVD of Ghostbusters that will be released on June 16, 2009 will be accompanied by a Blu-ray release of the film as well. Here are the Blu-ray exclusive features:
- Slimer Mode: Picture-in-Picture graphical viewing experience with an examination of the spook-hunters’ firehouse headquarters, an in-depth exploration of the creatures in the Ghostbusters mythology, behind-the-scenes discussions of making the movie, new cast, crew and special effects artists interviews and much more!

Sigourney Weaver Talks Ghostbusters December 5, 2008 7:15 pm

Sigourney Weaver, who played Dana Barrett in Ghostbusters I & II, told MTV that she is well aware of the new Ghostbusters film that is under development and is “supposed to get in touch with Bill [Murray] next week.”
Weaver called Murray’s potential inolvment in the film “great” and added that she wasn’t sure there would be a place for her in the story, but it hopeful that at least one member of the Venkman family would get a spot: “I would hope that my little Oscar would be one of the Ghostbusters even if I’m not in it!”

Terminal Reality has released a brand new trailer of Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Not only does the game look great, but this is the first time we’ve heard voice work from the original cast: Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd, Harrold Ramis and Earnie Hudson. Check it out below.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game will be released on the Xbox 360, Sony PS3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and PC June 2009.

Seth Rogen told Collider that despite the rumors circulating around the internet, he has not yet been contacted about being part of Ghostbusters 3. However, that’s probably a good thing because Rogen certainly doesn’t seem all that interesting in being part of the project:
“It’s hard to imagine that would be good, isn’t it?” asks Rogen. “I mean just as a movie fan I am the first guy to be skeptical of that. It sounds like a terrible idea when you first hear it. At first hearing it sounds like the worst idea ever. I dunno. Maybe. I mean, that would have to be one mutherfucking good script.”

The trades are reporting that Sony is moving forward with a third installment in the Ghostbusters franchise. Columbia Pictures has just signed The Office co-executive producers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to write the script for the film. Plans are in place to bring back the original cast of Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, although the focus of the new film will be on a new cast of Ghostbusters. Ivan Reitman, who directed the first two films, is also involved in this film’s development.

Vivendi Games and Sony Pictures are partnering up to turn Ghostbusters into a videogame franchise, and the original cast is on board. The first title, to be released under Vivendi’s Sierra label, is set to debut in the fall of 2008.
