Chef Irvine Returning to Dinner: Impossible November 21, 2008 4:06 pm

robertirvine-112108Chef Robert Irvine, who was let go from the Food Network series Dinner: Impossible over news that he exaggerated details in his resume, has been re-hired by the network to return to the hit show, replacing his replacement Iron Chef Michael Symon.  Production on six new episodes starring Irvine will begin this month and will air in March 2009.

“Our audience has continued to demonstrate its interest in and support for Robert,” Welch said. “He has taken responsibility and made a conscious effort to clear the air, rebuild the relationship with Food Network and apologize for the earlier inaccuracies.”

“I am very excited to continue taping more episodes of ‘Dinner: Impossible’,” Irvine said in a written statement. “I am thrilled to further my relationship with the network and embark on more challenging episodes of this popular series.”

Dinner Impossible New Chef Premieres in August July 18, 2008 3:51 pm

Food Network has announced that Chef Michael Symon, who won the network’s The Next Iron Chef in 2007, will premiere as the new host of Dinner: Impossible this August.  The show returns with new episodes on Wednesday, August 20th at 10 pm ET/PT.  Symon was named the new host of the show in April after a scandal forced Chef Robert Irvine out as host.  Dinner: Impossible has been a success for the network, ranking as its third-highest rated series.

The replacement for departed TV chef Robert Irvine, who left last month following revelations that he’d exaggerated details in his resume, for Dinner: Impossible has been named.  On Monday, Food Network announced that Ohio chef Michael Symon will take over as host of the series.
