Universal Studios has set a May 14, 2010 release date for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood project. There’s no other film currently in that date, but Iron Man hits the week before (5/7/2010) and the rest of the month is already filled (Shrek Goes Fourth on May 21st and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time on May 28th).
Synopsis
Russell Crowe plays Robin of Loxley in an origin story of Robin Hood that hews close to historical facts of the period. Abandoned as a child, he finds community with the common people of Nottingham. Robin’s abandonment and trust issues hamper his ability to fall in love. He meets his match in Marian (Blanchett), a strong, independent woman.
