During a press junket for the Nicolas Cage thriller Knowing, co-star Rose Byrne let slip that George Lucas has begun casting for his live-action TV series based on Star Wars: “A lot of my friends have been auditioning for it,” she said. Byrne (who played Dorme in ‘Episode II’) will not be auditioning for the series, noting she already has a steady gig on the FX series Damages, where she was nomianted for a Golden Globe: “I’m on a show,” she said. “I don’t know if I look that good in space.”
According to past reports, the live-action Star Wars series will focus on minor characters from the franchise and will be set in the time period between Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and the original Star Wars. Lucas plans to write and shoot an entire year’s worth of episodes before looking for a cable channel to air the series.
