NBC has greenlit a pilot for Parenthood, an adaptation of the 1980s theatrical film of the same name. Friday Night Lights writer/executive producer Jason Katims is heading the project along with Brian Grazer and Ron Howard.
Variety reports that the show will retain the tone of the movie — but with new characters, and with storylines that center on the modern challenges that come with raising kids in this post-Facebook, post-iPod world.
