Bryan Fuller is close to signing a two-year overall deal with Universal Media Studios, which will, among other things, bring the Pushing Daisies creator/executive producer back on board the series he left after one season, Heroes.
Fuller is currently wrapping post-production on the final episodes of Pushing Daisies’ 13-episode second season and is expected to officially rejoin Heroes starting with Episode 20. His exact role has not yet been determined, but he’s expected to play a key role in the writers room alongside Heroes showrunner Tim Kring.
Pushing Daisies has failed to capture an audience in its second year and ABC declined to pick up any further episodes past its initial 13-episode commitment. Heroes is experiencing its worst season thus far, and has this season, on more than one occasion, stooped to record lows.
