Babylon 5 creator/writer J. Michael Straczynski has been signed by Warner Bros. to write the long-in-development update to the Sci-Fi classic Forbidden Planet.

JMS recently wrote the script to the Clint Eastwood-directed film Changeling.

The original film was released in 1956 and told the story of an expedition sent from Earth to check on a colony of scientists on a far-off planet. Joel Silver is producing the project.
