On the eve of the election–Monday, November 3–the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates will appear on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. Both will be interviewed, separately on tape, by half-time anchor Chris Berman. The expected time is 10:15 pm ET, but depending in the flow of the game, it could be closer to 10:30.
The game, between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins, actually has some historical signficance. With the exception of one election (2004) over the past 15, when the Redskins win their last home game before the election (this Monday night), the incumbent party remains in power.

Do you really care that they are both speaking on MNF because I dont. What is the point. My thoughts http://jib-sports-culture.blogspot.com/
Whether you care or not isn’t necessarily the point. The point is this is a way for the candidates to reach over 10 million people for FREE.
And by the way, I do care. Considering we’re electing the next president of the United States. :)
