“The Dark Knight” Has Now Sold the Third-Highest Advance Ticket Sales of All Time July 16, 2008 3:03 pm

In yet another sign that the film is gearing up for an enormous opening weekend, Christopher Nolan’s dark follow-up to Batman Begins, is currently outselling three of the Top-10 Performing Films of All-Time at the same point in the sales cycle. MovieTickets.com is reporting that The Dark Knight has already sold out over 150 performances in Los Angeles and New York alone. To put this in perspective, that’s more than three times as many advance tickets as current weekend leader Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest and more than twice as many as Spider-Man 3.
