SCI FI Unveils “Battlestar Galactica” Prequel: “Caprica”, Plus Other Upfront News March 18, 2008 7:44 pm

During SCI FI’s upfront presentation in New York on Tuesday, the network announced that it has picked up Caprica, a prequel to the networks critically acclaimed drama series Battlestar Galactica.
In development for two years, the network has greenlighted a two-hour back-door pilot for the prequel.
In other pickup news, the network gave the go-ahead to True Believer, a two-hour back-door pilot created by Rosario Dawson and David Atchinson about a comic book enthusiast who hires a former superhero to teach him about crime fighting. The Stranded and Deputized join them as other two-hour pickups
And lastly on the reality front, the network added Estate of Panic to its slate, and ordered new seasons of Scare Tactics (to be hosted by 30 Rock’s Tracy Morgan), Mind Control With Derren Brown and Ghosthunters International.
