Food Network has pulled the plug on Emerl Live, the 10 year cooking program starring Emeril Lagasse.
Production on the program will cease on December 11. Food Network publicist Carrie Welch told The Associated Press that though the series is ending, Emeril is still under contract with the network and “We love him, we support him and look forward to a long partnership with him.”
Commenting on why the show was canceled, Welch told the AP: “The only reason would be that it hit a ton of television milestones and, you know, all good things come to an end.”
Emeril’s other show The Essence of Emeril will continue to be produced, and Emeril will also take part in “specials and other development opportunities in the future”.
In a statement provided by Welch, Lagasse had the following to say:
“I am deeply appreciative to all the unbelievable staff — many who have been with the show since the beginning — and all the loyal viewers, and the many talented guests who have appeared on the show through the years”.
“I look forward to continuing my association with the Food Network with ‘The Essence of Emeril,’ and I have lots of new ideas cooking”.

I was very upset to hear that Emeril was cancelled. That was my favorite cooking show. Everything always looked so good and the recipes I have tried were amazing. He was so lively and cute and it is just a shame. So What happened to the Emeril Live band? I always wanted to go and see the show live and now I will never get to. I hope that he will continue to have great success in his career.
the big E was always fun to watch and i learned a lot about cooking from watching his show…..bam baby……
