Vivendi Games and Sony Pictures are partnering up to turn Ghostbusters into a videogame franchise, and the original cast is on board.  The first title, to be released under Vivendi’s Sierra label, is set to debut in the fall of 2008.

All four members of the Ghostbusters franchise — Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis — will all be giving voice and likeness rights for the game.  In addition, several supporting members from the franchise (William Atherton, Brian Doyle Murray and Annie Potts) have signed up as well.

Aykroyd and Ramis will also contribute by penning a story for the videogame that takes place in the early ’90s.  The story will follow after Ghostbusters II during a ghoul invasion of New York City.

If they done this right, I think it would be a lot of fun, especially when the original cast is coming in with voices, appearances and a story line.
