Following ABC’s lead, NBC is getting into the television series spinoff game.
The network is developing an episode of The Office that will introduce several new characters and then be spun off into its own series, in a fashion very similar to what ABC did with Private Practice (which was spun off of Grey’s Anatomy).
One difference is that unlike what ABC did with Private Practice, which stars Kate Walsh, The Office spinoff will not be focused on any of the current, and quite popular, ‘Office‘ characters.
