Columbia has fast tracked Angels & Demons, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 hit The Da Vinci Code.
Filming will begin in Europe on Angels & Demons February 2008. It’ll be directed by Ron Howard and will be released in December 2008. The script (written by Akiva Goldsman) is being finalized by producers and the director and casting has commenced to fill in roles surrounding Tom Hanks, who will be reprising his role as Robert Langdon.
The Da Vinci Code was a big hit when it released, especially overseas. It grossed $218 million domestically and $540 million overseas ($758 million worldwide).
