Twentieth Century Fox has slated May 1, 2009 as the release date for their upcoming X-Men spinoff X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The film is expected to feature many mutants, both new and from the other three X-Men films, and Liev Schreiber is reportedly in final talks to play the role of a younger William Stryker, Wolverine’s nemesis (Stryker was played by Brian Cox in X2).
‘Wolverine’ will be directed by Gavin Hood, from a script penned by Hood and David Benioff.
Shooting will take place in Australia first before moving to New Zealand and then later New Orleans.
