The second season premiere of Showtime’s Dexter returned in impressive fashion, securing a record as the networks first drama series to open a season with over one million viewers.
1.09 million viewers tuned in for the 9:00 p.m. premiere, up 67% over the series premiere last year and up more than 40% over the season one average of 624,000 viewers.
An 11:00 p.m. repeat drea another 414,000 viewers, bringing the nightly audience to 1.42 million viewers.
In other season premiere news, Brotherhood was viewed by 371,000 viewers, a two-fold increase over last year’s premiere and well above its season-one average of 207,000. But the weak retention from its lead-in (only 34%) was a bit disappointing.
