“The Apprentice” May Return to NBC July 7, 2007 6:00 am

After nearly two months of the show presumed to be on the verge of cancellation, it appears that The Apprentice will be returning to NBC for a seventh season.
According to sources, NBC plans to announce the renewal at the networks annual sumer presentation to television critics on July 16.
The deal would also allow NBC the option of picking up the show for an additional season (what would be its eight year).
There is no official word from NBC or the other parties involved (Trump or executive producer Mark Burnett), but according to The Hollywood Reporter, all three parties have acknowledged that negotiations have been undertaken over the past few weeks on a possible return of the show.
