Walt Disney Pictures and Robert Zemeckis’ ImageMovers Digital are collaborating to make A Christmas Carol, with Jim Carrey set to play the roles of Scrooge, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Future.
Zemeckis, who wrote the screenplay, will also direct the film which will be a 3-D stereoscopic release. The film will blend live action and CG, comparable to The Polar Express and Zemeckis’ upcoming Beowulf.
A release date has not yet been set, and no other casting has been announced by Disney, despite what seems like an announcement from Bob Hoskins that he will be playing Mr. Fezziwig in the film.
Carrey is currently attached to Fox’s Horton Hears a Who, which he is providing a voice for, and will be in the upcoming Ripley’s Believe it or Not (Paramount) and Used Guys (Fox).

Jim’s been busy lately. I hope these upcoming movies are as good as some of his recent releases have been bad.
