Blockbuster Chooses Blu-ray over HD DVD June 18, 2007 12:30 pm

Blockbuster has decided to favor Blu-ray over HD DVD when it comes to offering rentals of the high-definition discs at a majority of their B&M stores. HD DVD movies will still be rented at a select amont of stores and through their online service.

Blu-ray and HD DVD’s are currently being rented at roughly 250 stores nationwide. Blu-ray renting will be expanded to the companies roughly 1,700 outlets. The 250 stores that currently offer HD DVD renting will continue to do so, and consumers from across the country will also be able to rent HD DVD movies through Blockbuster Online.
