FX has renewed two of the networks freshman drama series: Dirt and The Riches. Original episodes for the second season of both shows will premiere sometime in 2008.

The network also announced the premiere date for the legal drama Damages, which stars Glenn Close. Damages is set to premiere on Tuesday, July 24 at 10:00 p.m.

“We’re very proud to have managed, in the toughest possible competitive environment, to launch ‘Dirt’ and ‘The Riches’ — two highly original series that have resonated with our audience as strongly as ‘The Shield’ and ‘Rescue Me’,” FX president and GM John Landgraf said. “FX now has six original dramas, more than any network in the history of cable television, cementing the network’s status as a leader in quality original series.”

Additionally, FX announced that after three seasons on Tuesday nights, it will be moving Rescue Me to Wednesday nights at 10:00 p.m. The series will now premiere a week later than originally scheduled (June 13).
