Eric Johnson (Whitney Fordman on Smallville) has been cast as the new Flash in the upcoming Sci Fi network series Flash Gordon.
The series will debut on the network on August 1, with production set to begin on 22 first season episodes on May 1. The first two episodes of the series will be penned by Peter Hume and will be directed by Rick Rosenthal (also of Smallville).
Casting is still underway for the roles of fellow space travelers Dale Arden and Dr. Hans Zarkov.
