CBS and ABC split Easter Sunday, with CBS moving past ABC among households and viewers and ABC on top among adults 18-49, despite a weaker than average Desperate Housewives (the nights top-rated and most watched program).

CBS finished in first place for the evening with a 7.4/13 household rating and 11.93 million viewers, but had to settle for second place among adults 18-49 with a 2.9/8 rating.

  • Last Week
    • 6.6/11 HH Rating [#1]
    • 10.68M Viewers [#1]
    • 2.8/8e A18-49 Rating [#2]
  • 7:00 p.m.: 60 Minutes (8.1/16 HH rating, 12.92M viewers, 2.6/9 A18-49 rating) gave another one of its usual and dominant (among households and viewers) performance for CBS.  It improved nicely from last weeks program, especially among adults 18-49 where it was up 30%.
    • Week-to-week numbers:
      • Households – 7.5/14 to 8.1/16
      • Viewers – 11.61M to 12.92M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.0/7 to 2.6/9
  • 8:00 p.m.: The Amazing Race All-Stars (5.4/10 HH rating, 9.25M viewers, 2.9/8 A18-49 rating) remained solid from the week prior.  Though overall audience is low, it must be noted the good strength and consistency among adults 18-49 (where it improved upon its lead-in by 12%, despite the loss of 3.67M viewers).
    • Week-to-week numbers (vs. 8:00-10:00 p.m.):
      • Households – 5.3/8 to 5.4/10
      • Viewers – 8.95M to 9.25M
      • Adults 18-49 – 2.9/8 to 2.9/8
  • 9:00 p.m.: Cold Case (7.2/11 HH rating, 11.50M viewers, 2.8/7 A18-49 rating) was probably the only disappointment of the evening for CBS, but was still strong overall.  I say it was a mild disappointment because though it managed to grow from its lead-in among households and viewers, it actually dipped a little among adults 18-49.  Nothing too major, just something worth noting.  The loss can probably be contributed to airing against the returning Desperate Housewives.
    • Week-to-week numbers (vs. 10:00-11:00 p.m.):
      • Households – 8.4/14 to 7.2/11

      • Adults 18-49 – 3.5/9 to 2.8/7
