The CW will be partnering with CBS Paramount Television to stream a never before aired episode of the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris on the Yahoo! TV for one week prior to its airing on TV.

The episode began streaming last night and will air on The CW Monday, January 22 at 8:00 p.m.

NBC’s coverage of the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards propels the network to a first place finish for the evening. Day 2 of the Season Six premiere of 24 stays even from the day before, and was on par with how the show started off last season.

MGM release more information about officially greenlit “Stargate SG-1” films January 15, 2007 9:45 pm

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios announced today their plans for two movies for the Stargate franchise.

The first of the two films is titled Stargate: The Ark of Truth and it will deal with the current running Ori plot, while the second film, Stargate: Continuum, will bring new challenges to the SG-1 crew.

Stars Ben Browder, Amanda Tapping, Christopher Judge, Claudia Black, and Michael Shanks are all tapped toreprise their roles from the series in the films.

“‘Stargate SG-1’ is to MGM Television what the ‘James Bond,’ ‘Pink Panther,’ and the ‘Rocky’ franchises are to our feature film unit,” said Charles Cohen, senior executive VP of MGM. “We are committed to continuing to release new SG-I content and its “Stargate Atlantis” spin-off, and we’re also steadfast in our dedication to extending the franchise. ‘Stargate’ is an indelible brand for MGM and we will support it well into the future.”

With its NFL football coverage, CBS takes an easy Sunday night win. Desperate Housewives posts lower than average numbers, NBC’s realities dip significantly and Crossing Jordan gets off to a very slow start. 24 starts off very strong. (more…)

CBS wins the night among all main categories with its three hours of original programming. Numb3rs was the nights highest rated program among households and viewers, while Ghost Whisperer took the top spot among adults 18-49.

Two weeks ago, Geek Monthly broke news about a direct-to-video release of a movie based on the current Sci Fi production Battlestar Galactica.

Well, it’s now been confirmed to be accurate via the show’s creators: Ronald Moore and David Eick. NBC Universal, the studio of the show, are interested in a DVD release, but it will only happen if there is a fourth season of the show (which still has not been announced).

ESPN has quietly canceled Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith.

The late-night series was introduced August 2005 and aired at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2, but after a half year of low ratings (the series averaged a dreadfully low 0.1 household rating) it was moved in January of last year to 11:00 p.m.

Sci Fi’s 2007 development slate of original series is full of a wide mix of different genres of television.

Today at the TCA, Sci Fi made announcements on five scripted programs, one unscripted reality and one miniseries.

NBCU has announced that Chiller, a 24-hour horror channel, will be launched by the corp. on March 1 on DirecTV, which NBCU already has a distribution agreement with. Chiller will feature classic horror films and TV programs from the NBCU vault.

The return of Grey’s Anatomy (the nights highest rated and most watched program) propelled ABC to an easy Thursday night win. NBC comedies My Name Is Earl and The Office perform very strongly among adults 18-49. (more…)

Debmar-Mercury have announced that the sci-fi drama The Dead Zone, which will start its sixth season on USA Network this summer, has been cleared in 85% of the country (including all top ten markets) for a fall national launch.

In addition to the new series, Debmar also announced that gameshow Family Feud will be coming back for another season (also cleared in 85% of the nation).  The show (in one form or another) has been on the air for 30 years, and shows no signs of going anywhere anytime soon.
