David Tennant Talks “Doctor Who” Season 3 January 25, 2007 3:00 pm

Sci Fi Wire recently conducted an e-mail interview with the Doctor, David Tennant in which he discusses the third season of the hit BBC show.
Tennant said it was difficult shooting the final scene with cast member Billie Piper, who left the show, saying: “Of course that scene meant that Billie was leaving the show (although it wasn’t the final scene she shot), and that was very sad, she is a great actor and had become a great friend.”
The Doctor also discusses briefly his next companion. Set to join the show during its third season, Freema Agyeman will play Martha Jones, who is a medical student. Tennant touches upon this upcoming relationship saying that “The Doctor and Martha have a very different relationship to the Doctor and Rose. The Doctor doesn’t really think he needs a new traveling companion at the moment, but Martha makes herself indispensable.”
David Tennant also doesn’t believe Freema will have much of a problem fitting in to the Doctor Who universe, expressing little doubt she will be a great addition, saying “She is going to be brilliant.”
The third season will begin airing in Great Britain this spring on BBC.

The show won’t be the same without Billie Piper. Rose (Piper), I feel,is an integral piece in the Doctor Who Universe. Let’s hope she’ll come back.

Doomsday = only TV _anything_ which has ever made me cry. Ever.
Eeh… I think she’s coming back… I mean, come on, for one thing you just don’t DO that… for another all they did was trap her, they could have killed her if they wanted her gone. And they left a few loopholes.
Rose was good. But the show has been in existence since 1963.
I would pick either Sarah Jane or Nyssa any day over Rose. And don’t forget Ace!
I agree I think im going to have a hard time adjusting to the new season without Billie Piper. Hopefully they will meet up again like in that episode in the school when he met his other person with K-9. Yeah, but it still going to be good but just not as good without Billie.
Yeah i also cried in Doomsday episode and i was sweating like crazy that was the best episode ever.

i agree with boris. rose was a good character but it’s time for the doctor to move on. new faces & new places!
boris and natasha are right on. we got used to the new “face” of the doctor, right? time to move on!
1 – Rose Could reappear as the bad wolf . . . she colud see the whole time and space . . . so she could . . . .
2 – What about the paralell doctor? will rose find him? whould he be the same? there could be paralell time lords and they could travell through paralell worlds. . . the tenth doctor could swap dimensions to the paralell doctor in order to be with rose . . . he don’t seem to forget her easily . . . .

you know whats funny. army of ghosts and doomsday were the first episodes of doctor who i watched. and i cried even though i didnt know much about the show. i mean now i have seen ever episode except one but i still think rose will come back. somehow she will i just know she will
I thought it was so sad and Billie was amazing. i havent relli warmed up to the new assistance. Rose was a relli good character and she should of stayed because her and the doctor had only just started to get into savein the world together !! BRING BILLIE BK!!!
Rose Will come bk coz the void will open for the daleks to come bk and she will come thru too. Captain Jack comes bk too so he could go bk too torchwood and he did say that the rift is vunerable so that cud open an she cud get thru there.
i cried too in DOOMSDAY. i think the doctor should meet Rose again in the last episode or something. they should kiss and leave Martha behind. i think Freeman is rubish and they should get Rose back.
agreed, I cant stand it without billie and I think they might bring her back beacause even in the next 2 episonde counting the last one, he got all sad whenever they mentioned her and he told martha ‘your not replacing her’ sides he was about to say i love you too. you can leave it like that, i refuse to watch, but i will i hope!
I totally miss billie she was a great assistant to the doctor.My mum and I were arguing about it she likes martha for some weird reason. I say she is rubbish compared to rose. But look on the bright side she leaves in the ending of the third season but she’s set to come back in the middle of the forth season. And to sueann the only reason we probably got used to the new Doctor was cause he’s got a hot face, and is a bit funnier than the ninth Doctor. I hope david never leaves(even though thats inpossible). He was awesome in Casanova and Harry Potter(Barty Crouch jr) wasn’t he?
