HBO has released a new trailer for the upcoming second season of the critically acclaimed fantasy series Game of Thrones. The show is based on the “Song of Ice and Fire” novels by George R.R. Martin. Watch the trailer after the jump.

HBO renews Luck for a second season

HBO has renewed the drama LUCK for a second season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. LUCK has received overwhelming critical acclaim and the first episode has a gross audience of 3.3 million viewers to date. The pickup, which is for ten episodes, is slated to air in January 2013.

HBO has released a new trailer for HBO Films’ Game Change.

Game Change stars Julianne Moore as Sarah Palin, Ed Harris as John McCain and Woody Harrelson as McCain advisor Steve Schmidt. The TV movie premieres Saturday, March 10 at 9PM on HBO.

Rumor: HBO considering two-season pickup for Game of Thrones

Multiple sources are reporting that HBO is seriously considering picking up Game of Thrones for two additional seasons. The plan would be to film seasons three and four of the series back-to-back.

Teaser trailer for HBO’s Luck

HBO has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming horse racing drama Luck from Michael Mann (“Heat”) and David Milch (“Deadwood”). The series stars Dustin Hoffman, Nick Nolte and Dennis Farina. Watch the trailer after the jump.

HBO’s Bored to Death premieres third season October 10

Jonathan Ames continues to ply his trade as an unlicensed private detective, getting caught up in increasingly risky jobs and absurd adventures around New York City with George and Ray, his always supportive partners in solving crime. In addition, a shocking revelation drives him to embark on one of his most important cases yet, the quest to find his biological father. 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards Winners

ABC’s Modern Family won a total of five Emmys tonight, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (Julie Bowen), Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Ty Burrell), Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Steven Levitan, Jeffrey Richman) and Outstanding Comedy Series.

On the drama side, Mad Men won only one Emmy tonight (two total Emmys including one Creative Arts Emmy it won on 9/10), but it was for Outstanding Drama Series–the show’s fourth straight win in the category.

Boardwalk Empire led all programs with a total of eight awards (seven Creative Arts and one tonight for Martin Scorsese’s direction of the series pilot).

Other noteworthy wins included two for the fourth season of Friday Night Lights: Kyle Chandler for Outstanding Acting in a Drama series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series (Jason Katims).
