SCI FI has set a January 9th, 2007 premiere date for their new Ghost Hunters spin-off series Ghost Hunters International.

The series is currently in production in Europe, and it will be following a new team of paranormal investigators.

Here are the details for the first episode of the series:

In the chilling premiere episode, the team heads to Scotland, embarking on a terrifying investigation into the abandoned depths of Mary King’s Close. This underground phenomenon, a warren of vaults and tunnels, was once teeming with destitute inhabitants at the turn of the 19th century. Now, Mary King’s Close is considered one of Scotland’s most haunted locales. From there, the team sets out to uncover the secrets behind claims of restless young spirits at the notoriously haunted Ragged School of Edinburgh, a former residence for impoverished children.

SCI FI’S GHOST HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL TO PREMIERE JANUARY 9

All-New Original Reality Series is First Spin-Off of Hit ‘Ghost Hunters’

NEW YORK November 20, 2007 SCI FI’s newest original reality series, Ghost Hunters International, will premiere on the Channel on Wednesday, January 9 @ 9 PM ET/PT. Currently in production in Europe, this spin-off of the smash hit reality series Ghost Hunters will follow the adventures of a new team of paranormal investigators as they apply their principles of scientific debunking to some of the most legendary haunted spots around the world.

Like their U.S. counterpart, TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), Ghost Hunters International is a squad of real-life ghost-hunting experts – ordinary people who investigate and attempt to debunk claims of otherworldly activity. Comprised of veteran TAPS investigators Robb Demarest, Andy Andrews, Brian Harnois and Donna La Croix, along with Barry Fitzgerald (memorable from the Ghost Hunters’ legendary investigations in Ireland) and newcomer Shannon Sylvia, the Ghost Hunters International crew is primed to uncover some of the most startling paranormal evidence yet!

Ghost Hunters International is produced in association with Craig Piligian’s Pilgrim Films and Television (American Chopper, Dirty Jobs, The Ultimate Fighter). Piligian and Thomas Thayer, along with Rob Katz and Alan David, serve as executive producers.

In 2004, SCI FI introduced Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson plumbers by day, Ghost Hunters by night! Ghost Hunters has enjoyed its best season ever this fall, achieving record-breaking ratings in the weeks leading up to (and following) the successful Ghost Hunters Live on Halloween night. With a 2.1 Household rating and over 2.8 million viewers from 9-11pm, Ghost Hunters Live was the most-watched cable program for Adults 25-54, ranked second for Adults 18-49 and drove SCI FI to its best Wednesday prime performance in the 18-49 demographic since 2002 (Taken). The Halloween results show the following week ended the season with the best ratings for a regular series episode. Season 4 of Ghost Hunters will return in 2008.

As a Ghost Hunters fan since the first program opened few years ago, I just learned that Brian Harnois, Donna La Croix, Andy Andrews and few others will be on Ghost Hunters International. The three most dedicated ghost hunters, Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson and Steve Gonsalves are found not on the list. Will they be part in GHI ? I hope so.

In spite of several spats among them in Ghost Hunters and frankly, I was uncomfortable seeing several spats among the team in the past. The team was supposed to be like a “family”. I did not feel comfortable watching Brian Harnois being reprimanded by TAPS founders with agreement contract. Millions of eyes were on him and I couldn’t imagine how humiliaitng Brian was. Reprimand and discipline could have been done without being filmed at.

I’m glad Jason and Steve won’t be part of the international group. They are both overbearing and incompetent. Brian and Donna were my favorite TAPS members, and GH has sucked since they left. They deserve their own show. Kudos to SciFi for recognizing that and giving them one.

NO NO NO!!!! Ghost Hunters is nothing with out jason, grant and steve. Brian is a big baby!!! Ghost Hunters would not be what is today with out TAPS and the founder jason and grant. How could you make a new show without them. I only watch the show for jason and grant because unlike brian who thinks everything is a Ghost they really investagate and they require hard proof. So I will only watch the orgainal Ghost Hunters and season 4. The GHI show I promise you will be a BUST!!! Jason, Grant, Steve and Tango will have better shows and better ratings. GHI I bet you anything will show fake crap and of course mr. i am afraid of everything brian will blow up once again when he doesn’t get his ways and lie about everything like he always does. I do not trust the new cast of GHI!!!

Now this is just my opinion, but GHI really stinks. They took the weakest people from GH and gave them their own show. Brian is…well, a moron. Andrew is completely annoying, and Donna is completely over her head. Now there is this new guy, Robb. He leads the group like a manager at McDonalds. Maybe we can make a drinking game out of watching this turd nugget of a show…say, take a shot of whiskey every time Robb grandstands. Then there is Shannon…one shot shows her watching the others setup the equipment with her mouth agape. Maybe she was in amazement on how she made the jump from Barrista to ghost hunter. On a positive note I did enjoy the shots of Chillingham Castle and Mary’s Close.

I’m so glad someone else besides me likes Brian. Yes, Jason and Grant are the best Ghost Hunters. I also like Steve, Tango, Dustin and Paula and I think in time Donna will be good too. She just needs sometime and experience. I do agree at times Jason and Steve are overbearing. I thought it was terrible when Andy went to Jason’s house complaining instead of talking to Jason and Grant at the office. Then Jason tells Andy he can go on the tours without even consulting Grant. Then at the next investigation, when it was time for the tour, Grant says Andy stay here and Jason corrects him and says in front of the whole group, No he’s going on the tours from now on. Grant looked embarrassed and just said Oh. They’re suppose to be partners. Not cool….. Jason overrides Grant alot……Yes, Brian has been in a bad relationship and got into some trouble with Jason and Grant but without walking in his shoes, it’s hard to judge exactly what was going on. He was trying to save his relationship. Also he was an original member of TAPS and has done alot for the group. I didn’t feel tho that they gave him a fair shot when he apoligized and came back. They gave him a hard time about everything no matter how hard he tried. This caused the rest of the team to give him a hard time also and you can see that he has self asteem issues from being picked on so much. Brian needs to grow up, with-out-a-doubt, but he will go after the ghost. Not everyone in this group is willing to do that. I agree with Jenny that when Brian was off the GH show for awhile, the show didn’t seem the same. I like Robb but I feel he needs a co-lead (not Andy). Leave Andy as a debunker. Great debunker but he does not have the personality for a co-lead……Annie

GHI is a piece of crap. Everything is a freakin ghost to them. You won’t see Jason and Grant running head over heels out of a building. They look like fools and completely discredit all honest paranormal investigations. This recent episode 02/06/08 was another example of their inability to keep their heads, and get the shot.

7. Lisa - March 6, 2008 6:01 pm

I love the new Ghost Hunters International especially Brian and Donna, they are great and do the best job. Brian and Donna are not afraid to put their hearts and soul into their job. I’m glad Jason is not around to be the overbearing tyrant he is, because he seems to get off picking on Brian and lets the other investigators off easy when they make mistakes. Brian and Donna are the only ghost hunters with “personality” and the only reason I watch the show. I like Grant but he has to develop a backbone and stand up to Jason who makes all the decisions. Jason and Grant both need to thank Brian for all the hard work he does and for the success of the show.

I can not wait for GHI in january 2009!Especially the investigation of Little Castle! That is the smallest castle they have investigated! And it is the smallest castle in the world! see ya!
