Earlier this month it was reported that Relativity media had picked up Voltron from 20th Century Fox and would develop the film with a “more moderate budget, utilizing the type of cost-effective technlogy employed in films including 300”. It was also reported that a director would be revealed shortly thereafter and now we have a name. Latino Review is reporting that the director will be Max Makowski.

20th Century Fox is moving forward with their big screen adaptation of Voltron. According to Variety, the film is being set up at Relativity Media with a “more moderate budget, utilizing the type of cost-effective technology employed in films including 300.
Mark Gordon and Jordan Wynn are still attached to produce, as are executive producers Bryan Zuriff, Jim Young, Mark Costa and Ford Oelman. A director is expected to be announced within the next week.

New Regency is now ready to setup their own movie featuring robots. The production arm of 20th Century Fox has partnered with the Mark Gordon Co. to adapt Voltron: Defender of the Universe into a possible film franchise.
