The CMA Awards powers ABC to a rare Monday win in households, viewers and adults 18-49. NBC’s “Heroes” continues to impress, winning the evening in adults 18-49.

NBC takes the evening in households, viewers and adults 18-49 on the strength of its “Sunday Night Football” presentation, while ABC and CBS stay competitive. “Desperate Housewive” was the most watched program on the night.

Another slow Saturday has CBS the winner in households, viewers and adults 18-49. Not many tune in to ABC’s College Football presentation.

NBC takes the top spot yet again, with ABC and CBS following. NBC was the only network to improve its total viewers average over the week, and it also posted gains in households and adults 25-54.
It’s also worth noting that CBS isn’t doing all that much better than Bob Schieffer’s last week back in August of this year (7.242M with Scheiffer to 7.294M with Couric).

On October 31st starting at 11:00 PM and running to 5:00AM on November 1st, Sci Fi aired a special 6 hour live “Ghost Hunters” program.
Ghost Hunters Live revisited the notoriously haunted Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado for a real-time Halloween-night investigation. As the legend goes, Stephen King took up residence at the Stanley while writing his best-selling novel The Shining and the spooky goings on at the hotel reportedly served as the inspiration for his best-selling tome.
The program averaged a 0.9 household rating and 944,000 total viewers, 577,000 P25-54, 698,000 P18-49 from 11:00PM to 5:00AM.
The program registered its largest audience in its first hour; 1.3 household rating and 1.4 million total viewers.
Those ratings in the time period (11:00PM to 5:00AM) registered gains of 80% in households, 119% in P25-54, 174% in P18-49 and 107% in total viewers.
It was the highest rated 11:00PM to 5:00AM period since January of 2002.

The October 31st doubleheader between the Chicago Bulls/Miami Heat and Phoenix Suns/Los Angeles drew the largest audience for a premiere night of basketball on TNT since the 2003-04 season, averaging a 1.7 household rating. That was up a strong 38% from last year’s opening-night doubleheader, which averaged a 1.3 household rating.
TNT also posted major gains in the networks key demos, including men 18-49 (988,000) where it was up 39% from last year’s 712,000.

ABC and CBS split the night as CBS takes households and viewers and ABC wins the evening in adults 18-49 on the strength of another “Grey’s Anatomy” win. FOX’s “The O.C.” premieres very poorly.

CBS sneaks by ABC in households and viewers while ABC settles for 1st in adults 18-49 as “Criminal Minds” beats “Lost” head-to-head. “The Rich List” opens with a very poor performance.

ABC has given the sophomore drama “What About Brian” an addition four episode order, bringing its season 2 run to 17 episodes.
The show has been solid, though not spectacular for ABC, averaging 6.86M viewers a night with a 3.0/8 A18-49 rating in its current Monday at 10 PM timeslot.
The series has shown great retention rates out of “The Bachelor” in viewers at around 85%, but most especially in adults 18-49, where it is retaining a very strong 94% of its lead-in.

“Deal or No Deal” and “Heroes” leads NBC past a re-run filled CBS on the night in households, viewers and adults 18-49. “Heroes” wins the night in adults 18-49, while “Friday Night Lights” does well in its test time-slot.

“Martha”, the syndicated talk show, has been renewed for a third season.
The program is down about 24% season to date (1.7 to 1.3), but it has shown some signs of improvement, delivering a 1.4 in its most recent weekly rating.

In a very close Sunday, three networks can claim some sort of victory as CBS took households, ABC took viewers and adults 18-49 and NBC finished a strong and close second in A18-49.

The matchup between the Giants and Cowboys was watched by 11,807,000 households, a 12.8 rating, 16.03M viewers, making it the most watched television program in cable broadcast history.
The previous holder was a 1993 “Larry King Live” in which then VP Al Gore debated Ross Perot over NAFTA (11,174,000 households).

Fox finally gets a great performance out of its MLB Playoffs to win the evening in households, viewers and A18-49.

All three programs improved their audience from the week prior, but placements remain the same with NBC finishing in first, followed by ABC and then CBS.
The Katie Couric experiment seems to have failed, as viewers from the same frame last season when Bob Schieffer was the host are virtually identical to the current audience (7.338 million for Schieffer vs. 7.332 million for Couric).
